The US: *launches an illegal war causing the deaths of hundreds of innocent people*
Meanwhile, Switzerland: *abolishes the marriage penalty taxation*
Yeah, I think I chose the right country to immigrate to

I haven't posted on Facebook in years, but I look through my feed everyone once in a while to see what the right wing evangelicals I grew up with think.
Some -- not all, but some -- are finally starting to think we've gone too far and voice those opinions. It's good to see.
I know it's quaint at this point to say, but can you imagine Republican's reaction if Obama had demolished part of the White House?
Sorry I didn't make it to the office today, I sat down on my couch for half a second and my cat's sitting on my lap now.
Bravo!!!
Iβm working on finishing my PhD in high energy physics associated with CERN. Hoping to graduate soonβ’οΈ, and then the future is uncertain. Fun times!
Thereβs too many damn messaging apps
I know after Tim Apple's Oval Office visit last week it's not the best time to speak well of Apple...
But, I discovered a defect in my Macbook's screen on Friday, had an appointment at the store that same day, and they had it ready this morning for pickup. Free of charge.
Oh donβt worry, I held back. Plenty more to come if youβll have me!
Thanks to @notpatrick.com for reading my letter to the Phileas Club this week. I look forward to talking more politics and sharing silly stories of cultural differences. :)
Say what you want about Clermont-Ferrand. But the biking is good here.
To be fair, if I could submit an article by July 25, 2023 I should definitely be awarded my PhD early
Every day that goes by Iβm both more guilty and more thankful I moved to Europe
I didnβt realize! Now I can listen to you again in English as well as French. This is great :)
JβΓ©tait finalement servi le vidΓ©o Le Poisson Steve par lβalgorithme dβInstagram. OΓΉ est ma nationalitΓ© franΓ§aise?
ALICE at CERN confirms Pb->Au conversion, and I'm just sitting here giddy about the prospect of Fullmetal Alchemist becoming a reality someday
Me starting to write my dissertation in earnest
As an American, I love living in France.
I'm Kat Abughazaleh and I'm running for Congress.
Years ago when I got the opportunity to leave the US for France / Switzerland, I jumped at it at the time. And it's only gotten worse.
I don't think I'm going back.
Vive la France et la recherche scientifique is what I say!
Huge props for noting that actual Chicago style pizza is square-cut thin crust.
Itβs a must for me every time Iβm home, but I can easily pass on deep dish
It ought to be legal to take a hammer to someoneβs phone if theyβre listening to music / tik tok / on the phone on speaker in public transit
Glad youβre enjoying it, Iβll jump at some point :)
If being a Chicagoan has taught me anything, itβs that no one will ever call it the Gulf of America (looking at you, so-called βWillis Towerβ)
Cryptic Command, because Iβm a terrible person :)
In terms of card Iβve cast the most, itβs probably Snapcaster Mage.
Without thinking about it, whatβs your favorite magic card?
Hereβs hoping you never have to go through that, but Europe is pretty great
I know itβs not the purpose of your post, but Iβm curious if you have a take on Esper doing worse than Dimir Oculus.
Is it maybe a case of over-tuning for one matchup while making the deck worse against others?
Also fwiw in my limited experience Esper doesnβt even do THAT well against breach :P
