Writing prompt towards action!
β²οΈ 20 mins to start. Letβs go!
EPISTEMICIDE: destruction of a knowledge system by killing, silencing, or devaluing it.
How have we seen it?
How do we stop it?
If we canβt, how do we disrupt?
If we canβt, how can we slow it?
If not that, how do we keep others safe?
Thanks, but hard pass.
Among several other reasons: I purposely let my phone die out for some peace and quiet.
Reject the leash, become ungovernable. π
I was going to give a horror writing prompt, but (according to the algorithm) thereβs a toe video going around, or something.
I think youβve had enough horror today.
Go drink some water, get some eye bleach.
Here. Have mine.
This time the robots have gone too far. (A few words about James Dickey, Isaac Asimov, and a nearly 40-year-old memory about writing a poem. Gift link via @nytopinion.nytimes.com.) www.nytimes.com/2025/02/24/o...

If you havenβt already checked it out: Ujamaa Community Book Store (NNW) has a pretty good selection, and some awesome community programming.
Also: Indy Book Crawlβs coming up!
Amplification, letβs go! Keep the momentum.
(Also, separately: these are some of the best protest signs Iβve seen in a long time. π)
Hello from Indianapolis!
Todayβs #Writing Prompt: β²οΈ Take 10.
Describe a setting thatβs invigorated you, using as many sensory details as you can recall. An extra one: consider your gut/instincts.
How did you find yourself there?
What things about it energized you?
(Work off a pic if it helps! Hereβs mine for today β¬οΈ)

This is the first argument of this sort that Iβve heard, and I appreciate it.
Todayβs #writing prompt:
How did you arrive to where you are now?
Todayβs #writing prompt:
What are you waiting for?
[He wasnβt. Boooooooooo.]
For the sake of the bit, I hope he was a leg.
A dirty, dirty leg. π

Never be afraid to write your heart out. To write your ass off. To write until your hands cramp. Because when you look back at the miles of ink behind you you might just have a masterpiece.
Hey, #WritingCommunity!
What classic poem would you pair with (what) modern iconography?

Letβs go!! Congrats!!! πΎ
Calm vibes here, thanks to seeing people doing the hard work at all levels. Motivationβs pretty contagious, if youβre open to it!

I would tell him to check with the SecDef, but that guyβs just a major with one Harrison command under his belt.
Lord, why?

This looks amazing. Iβll let you know how it goes after I make βem on Sunday!
I feel like theyβre right in calling it out, but the reasoning is off: BHOtR has been/is being co-opted and sanitized by white nationalist movements.
Recontextualizing the song disrupts its power & historical record as a song of protest, abolition, and action. Appropriationβs a strategy.
((This message brought to you by escapism.))
I like trains... though there are issues there, too. Roometteβs the way to go, if you can treat yourself. Good privacy, good writing/relax space. Great dining cart.
β¦ I took a typer, to absolutely no oneβs surprise.
