And if they had requested it, the military would have laughed in their faces.

Primaries seem to drive parties to the right or just plain select bad candidates. Maybe the smoke-filled rooms weren’t all bad.

Republican voters appear to regard this behavior as strong and decisive, sadly.

The GOP caught the Democrats in a trap where they could either be against Israel's actions in Gaza and lose a lot of Jewish voters, or be in favor of them and lose a lot of young voters. Strategically impossible. GOP are very clever.

People assume that every billionaire that isn't goosestepping and posting about the extinction of the white race is a Democrat, when most of them are simply Republicans who know how to shut the fuck up.

An absolute snake who can make liberals think of fascism as reasonable.

I don't think the military have noticed that they are being fucked over because the Republican party are so gung-ho for war. And of course, the military loves a good war. It's kinda their thing.

The interesting thing here is that a charismatic Democrat could make good things exist by pronouncing them so and not taking β€œno” for an answer.

He’s also going deaf.

There were billions spent on pushing this message

Smart fridges aren’t attempting to establish a white supremacist ethnostate. Wired is the lone voice sounding the alarm about the radicalization of tech CEOs.

They are afraid of "not supporting the troops" but everyone comes to hate these stupid wars in 2 years or so, so they are shooting themselves in the foot.

There's a LOT of online propaganda aimed at young leftists to persuade them not to vote, because young voters have always been very easily discouraged and the GOP knows this.

Not every criticism of Democrats is a bothsides argument. But if you bring up something extremely terrible Republicans did and the other person counters with something vaguely similar but much less bad Democrats did, its a bothsides argument.

He should maybe talk about that then.

The Biden administration shrank back from strongly prosecuting any of the criminals involved in the Trump administration, sticking to the strictest and slowest possible prosecutions possible, so that the election ran out the clock. They failed the country.

What if he's an unhinged psychopath with a horde of fanatical followers that will send you thousands of credible death threats if you show him up?

Their crimes directly benefited him.

Right. Jesus healed a few lepers by faith, but science has healed ALL the lepers! Waiting around for miracles when God has given us the power of miracles is against the lesson of the parable of the talents, that you have to use your own abilities too.

The conception of government as having a duty to do those things was unknown at the time and arose from many centuries of evolving Christian thought, inspired by the ideas in the Gospels.

They are probably over-optimistic too. Trump pardons people whose crimes directly benefit him or who can offer him a lot of money. Some flunkey doing freelance crime can go spin for all he cares.

The perfect information is the dodgiest bit. In the real world a politician might make a plan that seems win-win for everyone but 10 years down the line something unforeseen and harmful is revealed. This can be paralyzing to voters.

The one use case is a personalized book written just for you: perhaps an isekai where you are the hero. Readership 1. Essentially a novelty.

They probably don’t understand the issues because there’s so much propaganda they don’t know what to think.

In Russia β€œnot caring” is the closest they can get to disapproval because protest is banned. There were protests at the start of the war, quickly cracked down on.

You can volunteer as a poll watcher, even in polling locations that you don’t vote at. In my state you need to do it through the parties.

Gonna get some sweet hospitals out of this.

Or even within one election location. MAGA poll workers could let people they know to be conservative vote without showing all the correct ID, while requiring the strictest, most correct ID from people who look liberal or black.

In the pre-internet days people got their information from a small number of sources whose biases were known. So if you read a conservative newspaper and watched a non-partisan TV news show it was simple to compare bias. But myriad sources in a scrolling feed can’t be easily verified.
