The first amendment only protects you from arrest, imprisonment from what you say... so, if you are a college student protesting anything and you engage in illegal activity while protesting, you are subject to the law... IF you actually did it.

Because the president took an oath to defend the constitution.
This is yet another moment where the constitution is overall ignored.
There is a big difference between being "pro-hamas" and being "pro- Palestinian"

If someone is detained because of their speech and only their speech, this is a clear violation of rights
