Yup! Trump wanted Republicans to kill the filibuster when he was president before, but they’d already carved out exceptions for the stuff they really wanted: tax cuts, judges, etc
But if Trump asks, they might break it now for other legislative priorities
Removing the filibuster was always a risky proposition and I’m glad we have it today
But Republicans have violated the filibuster and similar antimajoritarian checks under Trump before — for SCOTUS and federal judges — so they can still do it if they think it’s necessary
