I donβt know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content theyβre presenting.

Does she need the microphone to work via the jack? I recently got JBL Tune 770NC and those have been, except for that missing feature, really nice.
You should wear a mask if you *don't* have symptoms. If you *do* have symptoms you should stay home and not infect anyone else (if you have *any* choice in the matter. Obviously not everyone does.)
Just so we're clear, this is child abuse
Like, actual state mandated child abuse, done by people associated with the anti-trans hate group SEGM and with the government's approval
NO ONE has any right to praise Labour, Keir Starmer or Wes Streeting to me, EVER
New York Times killed Weinstein and Epstein stories but just asked Ms Rachel if she was funded by Hamas.
My takeaway from every new Epstein revelation is that some powerful people victimized many powerless young women, many more knew, some actively enabled it--and we're still being told that MeToo and accountability for sexual violence have gone too far
I like this album (and artist in general), and I wish more people knew about them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7K5-...
Spent pretty much all of today doing stuff in Lean, proving things about red-black trees. It's frustrating in places, but also so satisfying. Same with playing around with the register allocation code this last week. It's all very fun, but I hope I can spend more than a day per thing I look at
A highly recommended antidote to that book:

A (semantic) classifier of terms (that can be worked with syntactically).
The simplex algorithm is super efficient. 80 years of experience says it runs in linear time. Nobody can explain _why_ it is so fast.
We invented a new algorithm analysis framework to find out.
"good bean"
A code snippet consisting of the "sorry" tactic repeated three times.
Something about writing Lean feels very natural to me
The simplex method is an algorithm that turns an optimization problem, like setting up an investment portfolio, into a geometry problem. Recently, the scientists Sophie Huiberts (left) and Eleon Bach reduced the runtime of the simplex method. www.quantamagazine.org/researchers-...
i hear rumors that i abuse my scientific presentations to talk about Politics
so let me set the record straight and repost my video about Israels war crimes in the Gaza Strip π΅πΈ
Christ. Fuck this. I don't want to honor Charlie Kirk memory. And actively dishonor that nazi's memory with every second that I am alive longer then he is, happy & joyous as myself - not as a bigot spouting conformity & advocating death. Fuck you Newsom - I really just can't stand this centrist BS.
So its not violence to spend your entire life advocating for shootings, violence against marginalized people, several genocides & covid denial, but it is violence to say "haha a nazi died"...good to know safety's well thought out definitely not heinous stance. Always question who defines "violence"
First time I've sobbed at the end of a video essay
One thing that's been really liberating is realising that in pretty much all interactions, I can give the name I like and people just use it. It felt like a big step to start, but now it's weirder when people deadname me.
screenshot of a portion of an email being composed. The sentence reads "I think we should look into how we can express these things in terms of (some kind of) contracts on the functions, and I think this by itself would make for a reasonable bachelor". Google's autocomplete suggests finishing the sentence with "bachelorette party".
No, Google. Not quite.
Every so often, I'll be looking at a paper or piece of code and think: dependent types are awesome. We should have more dependent types.
My latest video on thought terminating cliches, the difficult things people dont want to think about in art and not if but how we should engage with bigoted art and artists. Please consider sharing cause the algorithm definitely wont be a fan of some of the subject matter:

This itch.io kerfuffle seems like a good time to remind you that it is not and never has been a war on pornography.
It's a war on women and marginalised people to attack and remove their capacity for earning income and financial independence.
happy analog gender week nerds ππ€ππ€
If you support trans people but not Palestinians, youβve misunderstood the fight. Queer & Palestinian liberation are both about tearing down the same colonial systems that criminalize existence, surveil bodies, and justify genocide of both in the name of order. These are not separate struggles.
You mightβve heard about right wing tech figures like Peter Thiel and Curtis Yarvin. Or maybe Trumpβs destruction of democracy & Project 2025. Maybe radical philosophies like accelarationism. But how does it all come together? What are the links? This video covers it all.

Anyone who at this point thinks Trump and Vances goal isnt the eradication of trans people is either a fool or supports it. They are gleefully celebrating destroying healthcare and suicide hotlines. They want trans people dead and are targetting trans kids first.
