NHS plans 'unthinkable' cuts to balance books Diabetes care, rehab centres, end-of-life services and talking therapies at risk in England.

This will be a disaster for patient safety & staff wellbeing.

I was one of those who rejected the idea that the NHS was been lined up for privatisation.

This very much looks that way as it is no longer 'affordable'

Combining this with the steadily increasing trend in nurses leaving the profession, often far earlier than they had planned, the future for nursing and its critical patient safety role is worrying.

1/ Why are so many nurses & AHPs “jumping ship” to ‘Advanced Clinical Practice’ (ACP)? It’s not just aspiration—it’s frustration. Career pathways outside ACP are disappearing, and NHSE has heavily funded ACP training while wider postgraduate education is neglected. 🧵👇
