Tomorrow is the halfway point of the year, so this week's newsletter is devoted to the albums I can't stop listening to or thinking about throughout the first half of 2025.
First radio show is in the books. If you tuned in and listened live, thanks so much! I really enjoyed sharing the music I love with you guys.
If you missed it, don't worry. The show is now uploaded on MixCloud and you can tune in live next Friday 10-noon PT.
The 28th Chaotic Good Jazz newsletter, published on the 28th of the month... It only makes sense that I'd pick out 28 albums
Four picks each based on the color of the cover art.

If youβve been reading the newsletter, THANK YOU!
Your support is what made me want to push this project into new spaces. The radio show is a natural next step, a chance to share what Iβm hearing in real time. No bots or AI, just a human-curated set, built from the same mix of curiosity and chaos.
Iβve got a new way to share the music with you.
Starting Friday, May 16, Chaotic Good Jazz goes live on Portland Oregon's Shady Pines Radio β every Friday from 10β12 PT.

That would be Aidan Thorne. he's played on all Whiting's albums and has a very Mingus-y vibe.
Mesmerizing and hypnotic, the new single from Amanda Whiting featuring Alice Russell just released earlier in the week.
This is the first single of the upcoming Adam Scrimshire produced EP, Can You See Me Now releasing June 6th and I'm really looking forward to this one.

David Mitchell's Turiyans was one of my favorite albums of April.
Not only that, but the album has been one of my favorite finds to share in the six months since I started Chaotic Good Jazz.
If you are a fan of electric-Era Miles and Alice Coltrane, this album is for you!

137 | Strangeness Oscillation
137 is the UK-based quartet of Adrian Utley, Larry Stabbins, Jim Barr, and Sebastian Rochford.
Their debut album 'Strangeness Oscillation' released on July 31, 2024 is a ferocious collection of experimental post-rock doom-jazz improvisations.

My favorite albums of March include an improvisational album recorded 15km from the warfront in Ukraine, a spiritual UK jazz album I canβt stop listening to and a handful of albums that are guaranteed to induce some intense head-nods and toe-tapping.
