I have records that are older than I am, but this is in part the result of having much older friends (and my ex). Many of my friends only listened to current music when we were teenagers.

I didn’t know anyone at the time who was there (just friends of friends) but I was in secondary school in Birkenhead and it was such a huge, devastating thing in our collective consciousness, that has stayed with me to this day. Also, the murder of Jamie Bulger in Bootle.

And the lecture we had about Hillsborough in our tort class, where I started hyperventilating during the film footage and had to leave the room.

I remember being a mature student in a criminal law class where only the teacher and I knew what “cashing your Giro” meant.
Not easy for the animals, or the humans trying to make it work when life plans change. We have friends who brought their dogs with them when they moved back from Australia, but they rehomed their cat I think.

I have a Belgian passport but an English accent and a Polish last name. I feel Belgian but also British and European and I’m not sure I’ll ever feel entirely Belgian, just because I didn’t grow up here. Honestly don’t know if other Belgians consider me to be Belgian (prob not).
I want a handed knitted Icelandic (or Shetland!) jumper so badly! I just can’t afford one. And there is no world in which I learn to knit competently, though I still have the bag of needles you gave me.
I’m not sure how I feel about my newly purchased book being mechanically dropped from a considerable height before I’ve even had a chance to pick it up.
We were in Reykjavik last summer and my surprise Iceland discovery was that prior to Norse settlers arriving by sea in the 9th century, the island was uninhabited.
I went there when it was still Manchester Poly, back in the prehistoric era.
