Isn't the whole thing that McDuffie is a good outside corner but a truly great slot? That feels like a huge amount to give up if you're not going to use him properly.

This is going to be world war three. Because the politicians and judiciary in America allowed it to happen.

Have Americans heard of the term "checks and balances"?
Isn't there supposed to be something in place to stop presidents that ignore the constitution and the democratic process?

Be it thy course to busy giddy minds
With foreign quarrels, that action, hence borne out,
May waste the memory of the former days.

😑🀯Private companies that own our trains paid out £1.16 billion in dividends to shareholders since 2022.

The Railways Bill will allow this to continue. UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you @shockatadam.bsky.social for supporting an end to rail profiteering.

These weird Trump fanboys need to be stopped.

Imagine looking at the record of ICE in the US and thinking, yeah let's have some of that here ...

These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.

This is the correct way to police ICE. And it drives the far right nuts. Good.

Investigate and prosecute political opponents, sell pardons to your rich friends so they can commit crimes with impunity. Authoritarianism isn’t coming, it’s here, whether people realize it or not.

I just want people to know that there is no active insurrection, no regular protests, no rioting or whatever. The only time people are in the streets is when masked armed ICE thugs descend on one of our neighbors to disappear them as part of a federal government-led ethnic cleansing campaign.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Mike Tomlin has been a good coach. No question. The thing that's always bothered me is that after 19 years of head coaching he has no coaching tree.
None.
I think he's hired lesser talent and I have no idea why.
Is it because the #Steelers didn't pay well?
Was he threatened by 'better' coaches?

Just wondering if #ofwat has managed to stop all of the sewage pouring into our rivers and seas yet..?
Or done anything at all that it should be doing..?
Our regulators are a disgrace.

Is the Thames Water bailout plan - which relieves the company from fines for up to fifteen years - lawful? A group of Thames Water’s senior creditors, London & Valley Water (β€œL&VW”), has submitted to Ofwat proposals for them to be relieved from fines for past or future sewage dumping for a period of up to fifteen years and to take a very modest haircut to their loans.

Ofwat must say NO to 15 years of illegal sewage in 2026.

OCTOBER: Thames Water is locked in negotiations with Ofwat on a rescue deal which could see them relieved of fines for past OR future sewage dumping.

So Bari Weiss’s first real editorial intervention at CBS is to repress coverage of American concentration camps.

News Team,
Thank you for the notes and texts. I apologize for not reaching out earlier.
I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity.
Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.
We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed
to kill the story.

Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed to kill the story. If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we

have effectively handed them a "kill switch" for any reporting they find inconvenient.
If the standard for airing a story becomes
"the government must agree to be
interviewed," then the government effectively gains control over the 60 Minutes broadcast.
We go from an investigative powerhouse to a stenographer for the state.
These men risked their lives to speak with us.
We have a moral and professional obligation to the sources who entrusted us with their
stories. Abandoning them now is a betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism: giving voice to the voiceless.
CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones.

We have been promoting this story on social media for days. Our viewers are expecting it.
When it fails to air without a credible
explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of "Gold Standard" reputation for a single week of political quiet.
I care too much about this broadcast to watch
it be dismantled without a fight.

The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naΓ―ve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."
