taking a break from the comic I'm not working on to work on the comic I should be working on
Hereβs another new Athena Voltaire page from the upcoming relaunch.
A nine panel comic strip following two figures as they traverse a barren and desolate landscape - their journey takes them through ruins and abandoned structures of a former civilisation - we realise that this was once our world and the destruction is the result of a massive global war - we also learn that these ruins and wastelands are the home and country of the victors in the war! The strip is titled Deadsun.

A JOHNNY HAZARD daily. A seaplane is landing on a jungle river, at a South American penal colony. "Ha, Penal Camp nombre seex! 'Ere, Ma'mselle...one finds a purgatory on Earth...a steenkeeng hole of rotteeng vegetation and men!"
Comics are cheery!
Teenage crush
I talked to dozens of experts in government, academia, cybersecurity, and industry about exactly this scenario last year and not only did not one of them think I was being alarmist, many brought it up unprompted and many said there was zero chance it hadnβt already happened
Some Croquis Cafe figure studies from last month:
This is not some Bluesky lefty, this guy is from the fucking Cato Institute
Outside of the unnecessary & tragic loss of life killing unarmed civilians is counter productive if you're trying to win the hearts & minds of the locals & persuade them revolt against their own tryannical gov't.
Really excited to get back to more Athena Voltaire! Join me!

The Russian's are getting some payback from the US, NATO, & EU helping the Ukrainians.
We have been so fortunate to find Michael Woods (thank you @simongough2099.bsky.social) who is colouring Dan Dare: First Contact. He's really captured the tone of the book beautifully and really understands how to work with my inked pages.

Suprised
Wasting American tax payer dollars because they could do so w/ impunity, because any decent quartermaster has three lists for procurement - must haves, nice to have, & a wish list ( which would never include buying a zoomie Gen a grand piano or any kind of lobster).
Because nobody in charge knows what they are doing or have any goals except blowing things up.
