Because there are so many well-known rich people who have decided to close their businesses because they have enough. πŸ™„

This is the planning that having a Dept of War with no DEI hires gets you.

What scares me is that we now have an immigration policy based on a person's national origin. Brilliant, ALP. I cannot imagine which party this precedent will help.

The pro-Russians in his administration would have suggested it as a way to get around the tiresome Republicans who support Ukraine.

Are we supplying the Wedgetail to Lebanon?

My husband worked there until a few years ago, when they brought in American middle managers and the entire ethos of the company changed. He is very happy at another Australian software company... which has so many ex-Atlassians they have an internal Slack channel.

If he does this, it opens the door to the racist immigration policies of what used to be the Far Right.

The fact that it might be an issue for the 250,000 Lebanese Australians has not occurred to him?

Recommendations and outcomes
The investigation made findings of serious corrupt conduct against
2 individuals. It also concluded that there was insufficient admissible
evidence to establish the alleged offences against either Mr Withnell or
Ms Wilson beyond reasonable doubt. Key admissions and statements made
during this investigation are not admissible in criminal proceedings. It is
therefore not appropriate to refer either to the Commonwealth Director of
Public Prosecutions.
The NACC Act invests the Commission with corruption prevention and
education functions and the power to make recommendations as part of
the Commission’s investigation reports aimed at preventing corrupt
conduct from occurring again.
In this case, however, the Royal Commission made a number of
recommendations to improve the budget process and agency responses to
the Commonwealth Ombudsman, and they have since been implemented.

NACC clears Morrison, Campbell, Musolino, & Halbert of corrupt conduct.

Withnell & Wilson were found guilty of "serious corrupt conduct", but aren't referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions because statements they made to NACC "are not admissible in criminal proceedings"

The system works!

Structural updates were clearly necessary -- sounds like a small club running a big project atm -- but not sufficient.

Liberal Election Review Thought No. 5: Reviewers squibbed dealing with the big picture LPA problems: the failure to act on the declining women's vote and the repeated offensiveness to various migrant communities over 25 years; and the impoverished policy development.

The original "from the river to the sea" is in Exodus 23:31: "I will establish your borders from the Red Sea[a] to the Mediterranean Sea,[b] and from the desert to the Euphrates River. I will give into your hands the people who live in the land, and you will drive them out before you."

The implications for Ukraine are very serious. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦ wants security guarantees before it commits to anything with the Russians but I think we'd see the AUKUS subs before we'd see that security guarantee honoured.

Tony Abbott rolled by his own ministers over stripping terrorists of citizenship When Monday night's cabinet meeting turned to other business, Tony Abbott had a bombshell waiting.

Must say, there is one Hartcher article I have been referring people to for years. It showed so clearly why Abbott, Dutton and Morrison were each unfit to lead our Govt.

LIberal Election Review Thought No. 4: Trump Factor
doesn't include all Spud's Trump echoes, eg the ICE stuff and fossil fuel stuff; only DOGE/anti-DEI.
Aussies clearly rejected culture war policies.

I've made the Ukrainian version a few times. Lovely in hot weather, but the long cooking time tends to heat up the kitchen more than I like. Ukrainians traditionally have a 'summer kitchen' in a shed in the back yard. Those 'outdoor kitchens' in magazines aren't quite so practical.
