Before the space pen I think they both used grease pencils, which if you don't know don't use graphite (aka "pencil lead") and are more like crayons. Idk if either ever used regular pencils regularly on crewed space flights. But I'd have to double check and my internet connection is spotty right now

NASA didn't spend any money developing a space pen. The Soviets didn't use a pencil.
The space pen was made by a random inventor who spent his own money on it. Both NASA and the Soviets used it, because graphite dust from pencils is a fire hazard in the weightlessness of space.

1) March isn't even halfway over yet.
2) ICE activity has been trickling upward since last week, with more sightings yesterday and already this morning.
This story just didn't need to be published? Maybe they'll surge and maybe they won't, but reporters offer no insight one way or the other.

For Brits, itβs worth noting that there have already been rumblings about age-gating *Wikipedia*, because it has content that is βinappropriateβ for minors. So itβs hardly hyperbolic to suggest there is a slippery slope. We just havenβt yet stepped fully on to it.

Image is a screenshot of a reasoned amendment to the Courts and Tribunals Bill. It is signed by SiΓ’n Berry, Hannah Spencer, Carla Denyer, Dr Ellie Chowns and Adrian Ramsay.
It reads: That this House declines to give a Second Reading to the Courts and Tribunals Bill because it is an inadequate and dangerous response to the challenges faced by the courts; it does not provide the correct solutions to the chronic backlog of cases in the Crown Court; it would not address the long-term underfunding that has led to the degradation of court systems, infrastructure and buildings; it would limit the crucial civil liberty and constitutional protection of trial by a jury of oneβs own peers by removing defendantsβ right to elect the Crown Court for all triable either-way offences; this change would cover a range of protest-related offences, and because protest rights and free speech, which act as safeguards against authoritarianism, have already been eroded by this Government and should not be limited further; jury trials build public trust and confidence in the courts and act as a space of shared civic responsibility that builds social cohesion; more effective interventions could be implemented that do not roll back fundamental rights, including expanding the use of βblitz courtsβ, increasing the number of sitting days, removing from the system cases that are no longer in the public interest to prosecute, increasing investment in legal aid, improving court case management technology, and bringing in more efficient processes to ensure defendants are brought to court and to the dock on time; and removing rights to judgment by oneβs own peers may have the unintended consequence of increasing court backlogs through a rise in appeals.
π¨We have tabled an amendment to reject the Governmentβs sinister attempt to remove jury trials including for many protest related offences.
Our civil liberties have already been eroded by this Govt and should not be limited any further.

Revolution isnβt a metaphor. Trump has actually, in fact, overthrown the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution is gone. Weβre either a Trump-established dictatorship or weβre something new post-Trump. Thatβs the choice. Congress must establish a new Constitution.

Trump has already achieved a revolution. The question is not whether we restore the Constitution of 1787, itβs whether we keep the Trump Revolution of 2025. Restoration is not an option. Itβs Revolution or Counter-Revolution.

When the president discards the Constitution to rule as a dictator, and Congress allows him to do so, the Constitution of 1787 has ceased to exist. That is where we are now. Any new settlement, whether allowing the president to be a dictator or not, will by definition be post-constitutional.

I was in Korea when Yoon declared martial law. The Democrats immediately moved to impeach. The conservative party refused to be present for the vote to make sure it fell short.
So the Democrats voted again the next week. And said they would keep voting. And did.
Yoon is now serving a life sentence

The centerpiece of Democratic Plausible Deniability Political Theater is the tedious nerdoid who sniffs about how you CLEARLY didn't go to their website and read their platform statement whose supposed goals couldn't be divined from the Dems' actions by fucking Merlin himself.

This summer before the election there will be a really great-sounding bill that was purposely introduced in a time and place where it has no hope of passing. At least one.

And I don't say this in a "Theft, plagiarism, jail for a thousand years" kind of way. It's how gaming works. How art works. DQ took Wizardry and made the formula make sense on consoles, then Pokemon riffed on that. Minecraft -> DQ Builders -> Pokopia is the same thing.

Trophies for beating Space Sheriff Gavan, Sharivan, and Shaider in City Hunter, with trophy titles, "I Shot the Sheriff", "Go Back to Planet Bird", and "So Long Space Captain".
We beat the City Hunter PC Engine game tonight! We only need a couple more trophies to get the platinum so I actually might go back and try again for those later. I think I can do it!
Fun fact: did you know that FOR SOME REASON you can fight Toei's Space Sheriff Metal Heroes as bosses in this game?
