We all act in our own self interest, i think profit is immoral and theft isn’t

So obey them, that is your prerogative.

So they can be executed?

They looked at you like you were stupid not crazy and they were probably annoyed you were creating more work for them to do.

From a person but not a corporation. Hopefully you still have enough reason to comprehend the difference.

Stop with the moral high ground nonsense, like most people you don’t steal cause you are scared not cause of your principles. Napster proved that point.

Friend you already used that line, it is the internet don’t take yourself so seriously. It sounds like you are actually in your feelings right now

Who is talking utopia, it’s literally and figuratively the invisible hand of capitalism. You don’t think Whole Foods is breaking tax and labor laws every day?

Caring if someone shop lifts from a trillion dollar corporation I think is much more reason to seek help.

I think being docile, servile and obedient Pollyanna like you is worst, have some self-worth my friend

I’m sorry for you

Ok, be the last person following the rules but don’t be bitter when you realize you were the rube after all.

Home boy is a shill always looking for ways to sound serious and self-righteous by dunking on leftist. Have you seen what the government is doing to brown people here and abroad? And you’re worried about someone borrowing an avocado from Whole Foods.

My taxes are being used to spend $1 billion a day to bomb innocent people. You aren’t going to shame me from not taking the five finger discount as much as possible πŸ˜‚

I remember there being a bike store on Pac Hwy near 196th Street like that. I wonder if was the same guy?

When I see my national government seriously investing in mass transit and not highway construction I’ll happily pay my bus fare. Until than miss me with the righteousness of paying your fare.

04.03.2026 05:28 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Build the Tokyo subway in LA and you will have 100% farebox recovery.

04.03.2026 05:27 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Best way to increase farebox ratio is just focus on a few routes during peak service . That is why BART is twice as high as MTA. You think BART is better than the New York subway? If farebox recovery is your guiding star you are failing most likely your most marginalized users.

04.03.2026 05:26 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Build a world class transit system first and than talk to me about fares.

04.03.2026 05:19 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

You realize that is just operating cost and doesn’t include capital cost which in those countries is almost always funded by the national government.

04.03.2026 05:18 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Somehow libraries and the interstate thrive without fares and tolls. The state has plenty of resources to build and operate quality transit systems without charging fares.

04.03.2026 05:17 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes pricing things that have negative externalities makes sense. Fares discourage people from using transit which actually have positive externalities. Transit should not only be free but users actually compensated for the benefits they are providing others, including motorist.

04.03.2026 05:15 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

They get more users which is the goal of any public service not making money. I don’t care if the person on my bus paid or not, just like at an ER I don’t care if they have insurance and I don’t want libraries to charge for checking out books or a park bench to cost money to sit on.

04.03.2026 05:12 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Yes, massive amounts of national subsidies to build world class state of the art transit systems that make it faster to travel by mass transit than to drive. Advocate for that, not more fare enforcement, have some self-worth

04.03.2026 05:10 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So car companies are demanding more toll roads and gas taxes to pay for highway expansions?

04.03.2026 05:07 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

If farebox and service were connected BART would be the best transit in North America, which it clearly is not.
