... I guess the explanation could just be that Ring of the Snake increases her turn 1 draw to 7, but she's still at a disadvantage because she naturally has to go through more cards after that to cycle her deck. She works just fine with 10 cards early on, if not better lol
Defect, watcher, regent, and necrobinder all have 4 strikes and defends, plus two character specific cards. Ironclad has 5 strikes, 4 defends, and bash, but he can get away with this many attacks because he has a lot of survivability.

I still don't understand why every character in the slay the spire series starts with ten cards, except for silent who starts with 12.
In both games, by the way. She still starts with 5 strikes, 5 defends, neutralize, and survivor in sts2.

Even outside the vibe coding there are some stuff that are just straight up sometime yanderedev would pull. Have you *seen* the going live feature yet? You have to give a duration for how long it'll be down and it's a drop-down list of five minute intervals up to four hours LMAO
It's really good, also I will give you a word of warning, it is also really hard lol
I'm talking actual soulslike levels of difficulty, and this isn't even an exaggeration. Some of the bosses took me longer to beat than some actual Elden Ring bosses lol
