CITES currently discusses potential changes to the listings of eels (anguillids). We consider the uncertain impacts of those changes and conclude that a comprehensive assessment to evaluate the expected impacts relative to conservation targets and risk analyses are needed.

New #iucn based assessment of conservation status once more shows inland fisheries is not a jey threat. It is pollution, habitat loss etc. in freshwaters. Therefore, attention should focus there. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
