✨ Coverage of our mobilization to Albany today for #DignityNotDetention:

Rosa Cohen-Cruz, Immigration Policy Director at the Bronx Defenders, pushed back on the idea that keeping detainees in New York facilities is better because it keeps them closer to home.

All three of the new office locations ICE is moving into — Roseland, Woodbury, and New Windsor — "are within an hour and a half from a warehouse in Chester, NY, that DHS is pursuing as an immigrant detention center."

This is part of what the Big Ugly Bill bought for ICE.

This is a critical week in the fight to rein in ICE and Border Patrol's lawless operations as Congress continues to fight over ICE's budget.

With Senator Schumer leading those negotiations, and with only days to go until Friday's deadline, we must demand he keep up the fight.

ICE is terrorizing communities across New York. Yet despite the growing terror and disruption, the NY State legislature has not passed a single bill to protect immigrants in over a year.

This is unacceptable. The legislature must immediately pass the New York for All Act.

Minnesota’s coalition is demanding:

1: ICE must leave Minnesota now.
2: Renee Good’s killer, Jonathan Ross, must be held legally accountable.
3: No additional federal funding for ICE in the upcoming budget.

🧊Have you heard about 287(g) agreements?

287(g) is a way ICE seeks to seize local resources for mass deportations. Passing the New York for All Act would prevent our local law enforcement from acting as an extension of the Trump admin’s deportation machine.
