It’s actually hilarious how loose and sloppy it feels by comparison. It’s still really fun and the art absolutely slaps, but it’s certainly less tightly designed than Overwatch. It’s perfect for a wind-down, either way.

Good piece. The story it tells is perfect. Even if it was systemic, the game couldn’t have written that outcome better.

You’d think this was all I’ve been up to, but no. I’ve also been reading book after book (9 so far this year!), and going out on regular jogs. I’m making the most of unemployment and thoroughly enjoying it while it lasts. It’s a nice change from the relentless torment of office politics.

The progression system is entirely new to me, and I’ve got a bunch of new heroes to learn, so my mains are ~15 currently, and I’m getting the whole roster up to at least 5 to study them & earn that easy loot box for each one.

Been practicing Genji lately. Always wanted to get into this character. He can be so fun when you get it right.

The new heroes are so fun. A huge influx of new players + everybody trying to figure these new characters out (and the ones returning players have missed out on) has the game brimming with 2016 vibes again. The toxicity is definitely still there though!

Thing is: this game has evolved. Supports are now dps-lites. As Juno or Moira, you heal effectively, but also net the same volume of elims as a dps.

Friendship ended with Mercy, Juno is my healer main now 🤝

Polytheism is a more effective route for daily gratitude than monotheism, because if you thank one deity for something relevant to their domain, you’re then obligated to come

Been reading The Iliad for the first time (or a modern retelling of it, at least) and I’m starting to think this Achilles fella has no natural weakness.

The problem with Marathon’s art style (which in isolation is great) is that, in an actual gameplay situation, it makes environments look like a placeholder blockout.

And Kiriko 2B is going to sell like hotcakes, so there’ll be a lot of these going around.

I kinda don’t like how accurate they are. I don’t want to be fighting 2B when I’m playing Overwatch. I want all the characters to look like themselves, in the OW universe. Wacky legendary skins is fine, but this is just other IP. That’s Fortnite vibes.
