This was released recently. I haven't had a chance to read it, but it addresses your comment. www.nature.com/articles/s43...
A small choice yesterday had joyful results. Do I climb indoors or outdoors? I turned right (to climb outdoors) instead of left. Shortly after I saw some excellent parhelia: a 22-degree halo, followed minutes later by a circumzenithal arc combined with a partial supralateral arc.
Thanks, Paul, for calling my attention to this. A tragic loss. I'm eager for a report on motive.
Then add a bank of lithium ion batteries...what could go wrong?
I'm trying to illustrate the Mt. Generoso apparatus (~1927) as a prototype particle accelerator powered by atmospheric electricity. This lead me to discover the work of Hermann Plauson who filed patents in the early 1920s for capturing energy atmospheric energy. Sounds dangerous with little reward.

This powerful dance performance thankfully reminds me of what wonderful creatures humans can be, expecially in response to the worst things humans can be.
These people are describing the abduction of their cousin. I know the person recording this and speaking to them. This is outside the Whipple building in Minneapolis (1/10/26), where, according to the videographer, ICE unnecessarily pepper sprayed protesters after one protester threw a snowball.
JPG version of NASA's contrail formation guide: charts demonstrating how temperature and humidity at the altitude of flight determines the formation and persistence of condensation trails.
NASA's contrail formation guide disappeared from it's usual link location this past week, probably for not aligning with the Administration's priorities. Same fate met NASA's excellent lesson on making a cloud in bottle. I've preserved both files on my website here: jgscience.org/science/atmo...
Just took mine out for a spin yesterday.
I often contemplate the evolution of any microbes that may have hitched a ride on this probe, huddling ever closer to the power source, just waiting.
I've enjoyed the writings of both you and Jess, very much.
To do my part to make the world a more beautiful place, I've decided to post self-feets instead of a selfies. Here's a self-feet of my son and me about 350 feet up a wall in Red Rock Canyon, NV, a safe place where politics can't follow me.
I think the movie was called “Don’t be afraid of the dark” about little prune head creatures that lived in a sealed off chimney of an old house bought by a couple. Only the woman could see the creatures after they escaped the chimney. Still creeped out 50 years later. Never should have watched it.
Signed.
I enjoyed your article. Thanks.
Are all the cards post marked from different locations? It has the look of a school classroom project, or nursing home project..
I apologize. I didn’t mean to advocate theft. I assumed there is only going to be one of these and I lament that I’m unlikely to be the one who would have it. Poor words on my part. Again, sorry.
This is one of those favorite things of the day, maybe week. I wish it could be easily copied.
Is this woodbine? It's been awhile since I've observed plants I know from the Midwest.
Here's some survival skills advice from someone who spends his weekends hanging off cliffs on safety bolts installed by people he's never met.
A horned toad lizard I observed today in chaparral of Southern California.
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing
Disturbing, as always. I wonder if there’s any data showing rates of autism among unvaccinated populations.
I’m trying to tag this post so my daughter can see it. Forgive my clumsiness as I try to figure out how. @empgarrett.bsky.social
I just sent you a gif animation. I think it will turn out well when I add more scenes and polish the timing.
Question:Emma wants to send Rene an email but wants to verify from Rene that Emma can use the email Rene used to sign up for Emma’s blog.
Can I opt to receive my DOGE dividend in the form of 30 pieces of silver? Asking for a friend.
Good article. Iowa is my birth state, so it will always be home. I appreciate the work you do calling out water quality problems. Your book has been quite the page turner.
Nevada red rocks. Next to Las Vegas. Best climbing area ever
Looking forward to that. I just ended a weekend of climbing at Red Rocks
