Hey Kat, there’s something I want you to know. There’s a lot of Webtoons I love. Comics like Not So Shoujo or Always Human that make me feel all warm inside. Others like Stagtown that make my heart race. Some like Gacha Girl and Cute Anime Girl that are so cute I want to explode. However none of them have reached quite as deep for me as Inside OuT. My heart aches for Haru and Kyouko. I’ve cried several times while reading this comic. Other times I’ve squeezed my shark out of joy. What I’m trying to say is that this comic means a lot to me and I’m so glad you made it. Sorry I had to get that out. I guess I’m just feeling extra sappy tonight.

That's *exactly* it. They'll always need to control what a woman does and doesn't because else their world will crumble to dust. Never let this get under your skin and please continue to do whatever you think you want to do, both as a woman *and* an artist.

i've received comments like this for years and while it's not too excessive it does weigh on me
in fact, it might be a little misogynistic in and of itself to imply/accuse a female writer of not *really* being a woman because she wrote something that made you uncomfortable

i know this might be upsetting to people who read stories for escapism but i don't want to excise all unpleasantness from my writing
unpleasant people exist in the world, so it feels inevitable it will come up in my stories. imo it would feel more disingenuous if i didn't explore these themes

but why do ppl find it surprising that a woman would write about misogyny/misogynistic characters?
experiencing misogyny is part of my lived experience as a woman and i've received Many unpleasant comments from men (and women) irl, ofc i'm going to explore it in my writing

i'm just thinking aloud but i've gotten several comments on my stories in the past to the tune of "i can't believe you write misogynistic male characters when you're a woman, why would a woman write something like this"
and also "did a woman *really* write this/are you *really* a woman"

They never ask the question of the evidence of harms from withholding treatment. Despite the fact they found no evidence of harms from HRT. Wihtholding treatment from a population like this is not a neutral act, it is an intervention in and of itself. One that has no basis in medicine.

They'll say the "skyrocketing" rates of patient referrals substantially decreased and then use that as a point to argue that it was all a social contagion. All the trans youth just swept under the rug along with evidence of their suicides and self-harm. Just a completely bleak fucking system.

The new gender clinics they spun up after Tavistock are functionally useless. They're glorified conversion therapy centers because they offer no pathway towards medical transition. Once trans people stop going and the patient numbers decrease, they'll declare "mission accomplished."
