How? With the same exact legal argument. They will argue AI is sufficiently transformative that everything created in your style no longer belongs to you.

Even though it was trained on YOUR work.

It wouldn’t exist without your work.

The groundwork is laid. You are not prepared.

I see the whispers of the same moves that occurred before Blizzard attempted to seize DOTA IP because it was created “on their platform” with what they claimed was “their IP.”

DOTA was transformative, and it won… but only just barely.

The next round companies will try to take YOUR ART.

License agreements across the internet have been ignored for far too long. Many artists have already fallen into irreversible traps. Stop uploading your art online.

I think this stuff is getting more common, people under stress tend to lash out at each other and read poor intentions when there are none, “something you said makes me feel uncomfy” suddenly becomes the (good intentioned) poster’s problem when it is the reader’s

You’re right, like… on a much bigger scale than I expected.

X has a bunch of “journalists” claiming to live in war torn places. I assumed some of them were scams.

Every last one is a scam, and most of the Iranian military accounts are out of Pakistan.

Keeping them as pets isn’t good either… but whether you keep them a pet forever or let them out so they can kill themselves by their own actions is a very hard ethical problem.

In some ways, the death penalty was more humane.
