Oops, I meant Shibuya
It has only happened to me once. In Shinjuku, near the Inokashira-sen exit. I was staring at my phone and in the way, and whoever bumped me obviously wanted to send a message.
Message received, loud and clear.
After reading the article, I realize that's only one type of bumping...
Possibly the best thing I've read about ChatGPT yet.

So there’s breathing room.
I imagine that there will now have to be in every district office an ornery kanji kentei master in a smoky dark room who proclaims what passes and what does not
So 当て字 is no longer possible? Or only for extreme cases?

I was surprised and grateful to learn that the first (and a splendid) review of JAPAN AT WAR, 1914-1952, came out in the Chinese edition of The Economist. Yay!

Being able to drop a quarterly US GDP prediction by 5.1% from +2.3% to -2.8% in a single week is one of the most impressive economic developments in the history of the world.
Thanks!
If you don’t mind, what RSS reader do you use?
This article is definitely worth your time.
Paywall protected so can’t read, but wouldn’t this be counterproductive? Other nations rely on a strong dollar and strong US economy to absorb imports. The weakening dollar and economic volatility would affect everyone… a cure that’s worse than the sickness, so to speak.
Awesome thread on an event of critical importance in Japanese political and military history
Congratulations Roger!

Thanks for the heads up.
It gets even more real when you realize that your students are closer in age to your children than they are to you…
Different topic, but when I research via microfilm the text is in such constant motion that I end up seasick in the archives
My daughter said one of her middle school teachers is always saying that “to be cringe is to be free” and damn if that ain’t a quality educator meeting these kids where they’re at and telling them something they really need to hear.
Oops. Was there a thread that I missed?
Or is this a response to something?
After the 2.26 Incident in 1936. From that point on the army was dominated by sectionalism instead of factionalism
