now-wife, we exchanged numbers. a couple days later i was drafting a first-text to them, and literally seconds before i hit send they texted me first 🥹 and we were talking about Dororo, which was airing at the time! I recommended it to them, but ended up only watching up to ep 10 or so back then 😅

February books/movies. Happy to finally get around to Parable of the Sower, absolutely lives up to the hype! Also finally showed my wife Much Ado which is my favorite Shakespeare adaptation and one of my favorite movies ever :)

And of course, Osaka is one of The Characters of all time. I've yet to find an example of someone quite like her, executed to the same degree of perfection. So cool that she's popped up in Yotsuba!& again recently 🥹

slice of life genre, and works very well within that niche. While the main cast is archetypal and there's no real "plot", the show never feels flat and rarely ever drags. The girls are fun and believable as a friend group, and I love how the group/charas change and grow in little ways over the run.

Truly a timeless pinnacle of the CGDCT genre, Azumanga Daioh is the perfect comfort watch. Like many cgdct, the comedy is not very strong apart for a couple solid bits; it is firmly in the

2ND, I don't like Yukari or (to a lesser extent) Tomo. Tomo grates on me, but she has a couple funny moments. Yukari however, is a POS chara that is not fun to watch. No redeeming qualities, i don't think i laughed at her even once. 3RD, charas repeating a phrase/noise ad infinitum aren't funny...

Extremely dated but also was never funny, the only saving grace is that he's not a huge presence in the show. The jokes about his wife were OK i guess. If u cut him out of the show and changed absolutely nothing else, it would jump to a 9/10. As is, I wouldn't blame anyone for not watching bc of him
