How often? Even once is too often. I'm sorry about all you've experienced. I, too, have a hard time understanding why women support such men or pretend their complicity was their only option. But we know financial realities keep women bound to bad men; and that's why such men WANT us dependent.
It's become clear that almost *everyone* knew. The interdependent fabric of higher education, sports, media, fashion, music, art, churches, industry, banking, etc. & the $ they all need to exist has created a shadowy world where no one looks too deeply at benefactors or how their $ was acquired.
