I've seen a number of people do this with the homeless, and one of the telltales is this narrative of "helping people get back on their feet." Because unfortunately, that shit is not the norm. Work with the homeless, you gotta go into it with the mindset that you are there to help, not to fix.

I'm always like... y'know very few people care if the extent of what you're able to contribute to society is voting in an election, or occasionally donating to a charity. But like lying about how much you do, painting yourself as a martyr? If that shit comes out, shit's fucking irredeemable to most.

Like I've encountered several people in the last decade in particular who will like go on these tirades on social media about people organizing, spout all the shit they've done for their communities, then it's like lol oops they went to a caucus once, and that's it.

WoW has some fuckin INCREDIBLE visuals. I don't think it's just nostalgia, like even their oldest environments still hold up for me (I wanna live in Mulgore), and I appreciate how unabashedly and at times gratuitously HOT many of the character models are allowed to be. 💦💦

I was for most of my 18 years of WoW tenure caught in that "GOTTA GET TO ENDGAME" rush, and it was only VERY recently that I started actually paying attention to the rpg side of it, and tbh yeah WoW has some fuckin IMMACULATE ambient storytelling. Not ALL of it, sure, but def MOST is PEAK.

My memory is a little fuzzy because of how long ago it was, but the first era I remember was inundated with usually scammers who had paid to be higher up the search list, followed by a period where it was borderline dark web because of how unmoderated it was, before early/mid-2000s becoming "normal"
