Went to drop my kid off at the theater for rehearsal and the Olaf and Sven puppets the school rented from a professional company that were supposed to be here on the 3rd have not only not been delivered, the company is ghosting them.

The front of this is some foam snow mounds but when Olaf starts singing “In Summer” the kids flip the snow down and this is the reveal.

The woman in charge of all the props for the play brings her cute, insanely well-behaved, tiny dog to set build sometimes.
I am taking this as an open invitation to wear my cat strapped to me in a Baby Bjorn to paint sets
Bonus: oh my god the compliments. Your ego and won’t fit through the load-in doors by the end of the day.
I could CHARGE artists to come paint school sets because that ultimate high of being the kid good at art that we all keep chasing?

I have had a blast paintings some sets for The Teen’s musical.
All artists should volunteer for this kinda thing. It’s a puzzle of “here’s what’s in the backstage area that’s been here since Eisenhower and the town’s leftover house paint for the last 5 years. You have three weeks. Enjoy”
Considering I’ve never really painted stage sets before the learning curve isn’t too bad. I’m already planning out how to attack a beach umbrella backdrop for later this week, ha!
