I think this is your whimsy and love for the world taking a lead! Personally i will always take an interest in the culture of a language am learning but at the core there is an indifference and alienation. Perhaps spanish and mandarin happened to be a really good fit for you without even realising!

You have not even been at this very long still but you have learned sooo much, i always get impressed when i see your notes and that whole presentation page you had made in Spanish. Conversing,having mingled with a few languages, is always the hardest part. You are doing great and will get there!!!

Learning a language, let alone two is no joke!!! Hell, all my Italian is getting converted into french the more i study it!! Poof, just gone! So being able to maintain both, even if sometimes they fall ontop of eachother, is no small feat! Especially with how unique mandarin is!
