My first Transformer in ’84, so this one’s personal. Not a buy-every-version guy, but I prefer this over Legacy United.

Downside: the cassettes are just rectangles. I miss the old Laserbeak and Ravage.

Add fillers and Toyhax and he’s close to perfect.

I wasn't all in but, he's pretty great. Kinda prefer his body and the last rounds alt mode, but the accessories are aces.

I rarely keep 2 of a character but one is going with Orion Pax and Ariel, the other is going with Vector Sigma and the Aerialbots.

Honestly, TC is a great example of why I'm replacing all my TR/CW/Siege figs with the new versions (for the last time, promise!).

Honestly, since they're marked leader and Voyager, I'm gonna need to see what they come with!

DNA Design’s DK-81 AOTP ALPHA UPGRADE KITS

This is the total package upgrade for AOTP Alpha Trion. Throw some @toyhax.com labels in there and I'd call this upgrade done!

Well, I like Brawl more than Vortex! He feels solid in your hand and he's got a balanced transformation, with some clever engineering.

I'd say my only gripe is having a tank that isn't blast effect compatible, I had to pose those separately.

Blastoff is next and I can't wait for the final two

Yep, I didn't grab Quake or a couple other Deceptions. Trying to stick to G1 USA cartoon only.

AoTP Windcharger

Last of the ’84 updates since CW/TR/POTP, so I’m glad to finally have him.

Only real gripe. In the show his alt-mode back end is more feet. On the toy they turn into chunky snow-boot shins. Less ankle tilt, more shin tilt. Still better than the last one.

Overall, a solid upgrade.

I still miss quake and that whole lot of Target Masters.

Transformers AoTP Sureshot

Looks good in bot and alt mode. Plastic feels cheap. Targetmaster is the same mold as Pointblank’s, just cheaper plastic. No wrist swivel for a Targetmaster. Partsforming shoulders limit posing. Leg tires make him unstable.

At least I finally have the last Targetmaster.

Transformers One Studio Series Airachnid

I don't if I'm getting old but 🧀 & 🍚 she is a pain to transform! I mean gotta buy the fembots to get more made, but she frustrated the crap out of me.

Also...flying alt modes really should have built in support for stands.

Megatronus wasn't initially on my "list", not due to not wanting him, just lack of where to put him. BUT my kiddos and wife got me him for Xmas and he is pretty. damn. AWESOME.

He is badass looking and has a good heft and weight to him and is super poseable!

Anyone else grab him?

Well, if you like Junkions, partsformers and weaponizers, you probably picked up Jalopy like I did.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said since. This is our third (?) redeco of this mold.

Show of hands, who is happier with this than the Jazz redeco we thought we were getting.

Godzilla x Transformers Custom

Happy New Year. Finished at 11:59 p.m., my last custom of 2025 and first of 2026.

Not thrilled with the official redeco, so I built my own using three upgrade sets with parts from Mav and PHG79 on Cults3d. New head, neck, arms, hands, and spikes, etc.

Looking good!

I figured since we're talking upgrades and customs I'd show off some new bling for SS86 Ultra Magnus to give him that Energon Universe glow up. He's got a shiny new sword, a huge gun and smaller head with two gritty faces.

How many upgrades can you give one toy?

This is a question for the custom community folks. How do you feel when you spend time on a custom, choose "the right mold" only to see Hasbro come to the same conclusion and make an "official release" of it?

Transformers x Pittsburgh Steelers - Steelsmash

First thoughts - The helmet alt mode is spot on, but for a figure that is supposed to represent athleticism and sports, he sucks for poseability. I would have loved better hands and options to hold the ball and a LOT less kibble.

Hot Wheels x Transformers - Twin Mill

The not great: A lot of partsforming for the weapons for better or worse, and giant empty space in the legs.

The good: He's got a sweet alt mode and comes with some fun blast effects, plus he's pretty poseable.

Bone Shaker - Hot Wheels x Transformers

Of the two new Hot wheels crossover figures I probably like Bone Shaker more. Don't get me wrong he does have some issues; those shoulder REALLY limit poseability, but otherwise he's pretty fun.

Here's hoping they make a couple Decepticons to race against!
