I’m old enough to remember (in fact tiny infants are, too) media reports confidently reminding the public that despite noises made by the Trump administration of course it’s not legal to deploy the military domestically—as if to say, well, they’re not gonna do THAT.
“Nationalize the voting” is a direct threat to the Elections Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which grants the states the power to oversee our elections. This is fundamental, Constitution 101 type stuff.
