Ah that's brilliant news! Really glad you both enjoyed it.
No problem! Hope you enjoy.
No problem at all! Hope you enjoy.
New on the blog, it's Nok and Roni's Kitchen in Canton. #Cardiff's falafel king still reigns supreme.

😅 It does look rather precarious!
We were impressed!
New on the blog - it's Pizza Pilgrims in #Cardiff City Centre, my second chain restaurant review in the space of a week and a half...

A photo of Longa's vegetarian main, Antep dolma; rice stuffed sun-dried aubergine and pepper with isot pepper, sumac, lemon infused labneh, pomegranate molasses and seasonal leaves. The dish is presented on a large, dark plate with an upturned rim.
NEW ON THE BLOG In which we linger at Longa and even outstay our friends (in mitigation, they would otherwise have missed their train).

New on the blog - it's Summer Palace in Llandaff. Is it reinventing the wheel? No, but with nearly 40 years of history, it’s more likely that it invented the wheel #Cardiff gourmetgorro.blogspot.com/2026/01/summ...
New on the blog - it's Parallel. One of #Cardiff's best restaurants has got even better since head chef Paul Bainbridge has joined the team.

Absolutely! So many delicious things to eat.
New on the blog, it's my first experience of Afghan cooking at Yadgar on #Cardiff's City Road

New on the blog, it's Chucho's in #Newcastle. It makes a compelling case that Byker should be just as famous for its tacos as it is for its grove.

Anywhere with Black Forest Gateaux on the menu is alright with me! Slightly less sure about the onsite monkey 😳
I'm sure they'd sub the Thai sweet chilli sauce for something else on request - they're very friendly.
The Grotto was before my time in Cardiff - it sounds amazing / hilarious! They don't make restaurants like that anymore.
New on the blog - Konak, a Turkish-ish restaurant on the edge of Roath Park #Cardiff

New on the blog - bagels, bikes and brews at Workhorse in Canton. I’ve got a hell of a lot of time for a good homemade bagel but there are barely any available in #Cardiff.

Happy new year! 🥂
Glad you enjoyed!
A bobby dazzler of a chilli dog from the recently opened Brân in #Cardiff city centre. Everything hit the mark, from the girthy and snappy smoked sausage, to the thick well-spiced chilli, scattering of crunchy bacon fries, soft bun and drizzle of fiery sriracha mayo.
The cavolo nero and ricotta sandwich sounded excellent too! I'm sure there'll always be something good for veggies on the menu. Yeah, the more I've learnt about wine the less I'm into the funky tasting natural stuff.
New on the blog - seasonal cooking from Alex Vines and natural wines at Ogof in Pontcanna #Cardiff
gourmetgorro.blogspot.com/2025/12/ogof...
I'm looking forward to visiting too! I'm a big fan of Alex Vines' cooking.
New on the blog - it's the Yemeni cooking at Qamariyah in Adamsdown, featuring the biggest sharing bread I've come across in #Cardiff
