about as good as GB could reasonably do to replace Quay Walker with a vet but also who the hell is playing IDL for this team
Has gotten better every year and was outstanding in 2025. Finally commands space as well (and now for as many snaps!) as you could have hoped for when he was drafted. Also had one of the most insane plays of the season
would be dumb imo!
Free agency is right around the corner, and we're celebrating in a big way on The Athletic Football Show. Join @robertmays.bsky.social, @qbklass.bsky.social and @davehelman.bsky.social from noon to 5 ET on Monday, breaking down all the moves with a bunch of friends! www.youtube.com/watch?v=sm4u...
Before a player is an NFL draft pick, he is the subject of a scouting report.
These, and the scouts that build and evolve them, are the DNA of a roster.
I spent the combine talking to scouts about how they write the reports that shape their teams - and the draft: www.nytimes.com/athletic/706...
For the Rams specifically, they've shown they dont really care about small CBs (at least for the time being) but yeah Terrell is ideally a nickel to me
Draft another corner at 13 and keep it moving.
Very curious to see what they want to do with him. McDuffie is quite obviously better in the nickel, but the Rams have Quentin Lake and, imo, a bigger need at outside corner than anything else in the secondary rn.
Does Lake just go back to S to replace Curl and McDuffie is then the nickel?
Kylerβs floor is better than all but like seven weeks of Daniel Jonesβ career
100%. Even for the same amount of money and equal/clean health, Kyler Murray is better
Fernando Mendozaβs arm talent blows me away every time I watch him. Not as sexy or creative arm slot wise as someone like Caleb Williams but the velocity and arc control to all three levels is phenomenal
everything is dead or dying

I also donβt subscribe to the idea that a QB capped at QB20 is worth a first. Sure, QB20 at a cheap price is nice, but this is the one position Im drafting for what Iβm getting beyond their rookie deal
A lot of people keep saying that about the injuries, which is totally fair, but I donβt think his film even before that looks like a first round player. Feet all over the place, too often kills YAC opps with his placement, up and down with how he sees the blitz
I agree with the traits β theyβre like B/B- level to me which is totally workable. But imo thatβs not good enough for a player his size unless he had some other exceptional skill or was very polished, and I donβt think heβs got either of those things
Yeah that definitely makes a lot of sense. He's got the size and strength and explosiveness they'd want
I like him! Nothing special and there's a couple times where he's a little too upright/stiff at the top of press reps but he does a lot well and he's explosive
Kevin should be begging for a veteran β any veteran!
He feels to me like a third round player who is benefiting from a void at QB2 in this class and the narrative (assumption?) that the Rams specifically are interested in him because of Staffordβs age and the extra first
I also keep seeing processing / decision making as his sell and Iβm just not sure I get that, at least to the degree that would warrant a first round pick.
Iβve seen at least half of Ty Simpsonβs season now via watching defensive prospects and Iβm struggling to see a first round QB here.
His best three throws a game are sick but the rest feels way too scattered and unreliable.
good rep from Colton Hood (CB 8)
cut split so he knows speed out might be coming. triggers well off the QB's eyes. efficient and explosive flip of the hips to get downhill. plays the ball over the inside shoulder to shut the window.
I think this is fair too! Im not necessarily saying McDermott didnβt deserve to be moved on from β Im saying Im not sure all the changes they made will actually produce better results
I think it worked for me because it was the spiritual successor I always wanted for New Vegas and so, even if imperfect, I could love it. very excited to hear the new one has a lot more to it though, Im for sure gonna have to dig in
hell yeah. How does it compare to the first one in terms of scale? I loved OW1 but my biggest complaint was it just felt small and limited (makes sense tbf β smaller company starting a new product)
I think it can happen one of these years. Maybe if his best pass catcher doesnt go down it even happens last year. The volume does hurt him now but I also think the offense could shift a little as Love continues to mature and LaFleurβs trust in him grows
