My father played for Harlequins so a lot of my childhood experiences involved going to rugby games at Twickenham. I just choose not to talk about it on here for fear of encountering people like you.

I'm sure there are lots, I just don't agree that brain space for popular passions is a zero sum game. Your experience may be different to mine.
That's not really been my experience. I go to every Arsenal home game with 10 friends (as much as social experience as sporting), reguarly go the Wigmore Hall, watch films/TV and read assiduously. What I don't do - which is the big time sink - is doom scroll or make thousands of social media posts.
I made a film about this for BBC2 a few years ago with the war photographer Simon Norfolk. At the last minute they decided not to broadcast it, which was rather regrettable. I can send you a link on the off chance you're interested and maybe you can see why.
When I was standing behind the goal on the North Bank, I never thought I'd see a better defence than our 90-91 team. I think I might have to revise my opinion. Our current squad has the potential to be even better over a season.
Indeed and made good use of it too.
Dowman understandably got all the headlines yesterday but I thought Nwaneri was excellent. He showed real personality when he came on, as though for the first time he believed he had the right to control the game.
Rodrygo please. I haven't given up hope.
Welcome to the Premier League Martin Zubimendi. Youβre a brilliant player, it wonβt take you long to adjust to the pace of the league. That was quite an introduction.
One of my few criticisms of Arteta has been that heβs sometimes been slow to make the obvious subs. Great to see him being proactive at the start of the season
It might be uncomfortable but Iβm still delighted Arteta has altered his approach. Lots of tweaking to do of course and Zubimendi will be better when heβs up to speed but the important thing is Arteta signalling his internet
Zubimendi discovering quite how quick the Premier League is
Not sure if Havertz is 100% fit but we really do miss what he gives us
I wonder if, going forward, Arteta might consider playing one of White and Calafiori with one of Timber and MLS as a better balance of risk and reward. Personally I hope not.
Really applaud Arteta for setting up more offensively than last season
White and Calafiori great going forward but not as solid defensively as MLS or Timber
It should not be the remit of the PGMOL (or IFAB) to find any and every way to reduce the number of goals scored in a game.
Zubimendi is worth three and a half Parteys.
Let's see but I think you may be right.
Am I the only one who's expecting Kai Havertz to start at 9 against Man Utd next week if he's fully match fit?
Annual reminder that you can infer nothing from pre-season friendly results.
Pogacar can cycle up a mountain faster than I can cycle down it
Chelsea just won the international Charity Shield. I'm sure it'll be worth it when their legs fall off in December.
Absolutely this.
Why are people having such a meltdown over transfers?
Our first XI is good enough to compete on all fronts. We didn't win anything because we didn't have enough depth. The club are fixing that now.
Zubimendi and Rodrygo (if he comes) are excellent additions to an already good first team.
This Madueke stuff is hilarious. Nobodies on social media actually thinking they can influence the club's decision. Delusional.
Good bloody riddance
Thank you. Interesting post. Should you also include defensive numbers too, though? Perhaps they'd be necessary (but not sufficient) to be considered?
Martinelli posts the attacking numbers + a tonne of defensive work to fit into Arteta's system. Leao just puts hands on hips when he loses the ball?
Did you ever get to see Michael Holding?
