This is a list of every comic that I read in the month of January. Significant drop from Dec. to Jan. sadly - 95 issues in Dec. 50 in January. Let's just say January can go away and hopefully February is better.
Mystique, Phoenix, and Ultimate Spider-Man are the ones that stood out the most to me
Also, is anyone else getting Mimikyu vibes from Deathdream?
What are y'all's thoughts on our new team of teenage runaways? I've only read the first 3 issues, but so far Jitter is standing out to me as one I'm really excited to see what the writers can do with her. Really interesting ability. Powerful, but limited
I have a couple different reading orders I'm going through. The continuity guide, every appearance of Betsy Braddock/Psylocke, just X-Men comics in publication order, and I'm trying to keep up with the new stuff on Marvel Unlimited. It's a lot, but I'm having a lot of fun
This is every comic issue I read in December of 2024. Read 95 issues, which I think is good? About 3 a day. Hoping to pump those numbers up this month. Honestly, there are a lot of bangers in this list. Stand outs - Kitty Pryde and Wolverine, Beauty & the Beast, and Ultimate X-Men
Anybody else think that Matthew Mcconaughey would have made a great Corsair back in the day?
Caught the Flu ๐คข ๐คข ๐คข so I'm curled up on the couch, reading through some Marvel Infinity Comic. Just a couple Panels that made me chuckle or hit me in the stomach.
Of Note, I do not think that when your bleeding out that badly that just putting your hand over the wound will take care of you!
Never read through the Captain Britain comics, going through to follow Betsy's journey. Didn't think the comics would start off with the rape of both Brian and Betsy Braddock, hit me in the gut really hard.
-Captain Britain (1985) #6
Decided to do a read through of every appearance of Betsy Braddock/Psylocke to better understand these characters. This panel made me go... Woah.
-The Mighty World of Marvel #16
If y'all haven't sat down and read this series, I highly recommend it. Some really powerful moments for Wolverine and Kitty. Read 3 issues yesterday and 3 today. Beautiful series
This gave a good chuckle today.
Today's reading - Kitty Pryde and Wolverine (1984)
Wasn't shatterstar always bisexual?
Do you ever feel like X-Men comics are trying to say something about society? I feel like there are some subtle hints sprinkled throughout.
-Beauty and the Beast (1985) #2
Has anybody ever read the Beauty and the Best Mini Series? I just finished the first issue and I'm loving it. I love how fierce Beast is in this issue and the depiction of Hollywood and Dazzlers experience in it is quite frightening
I'd put Transistor down as one of my favorites
I wouldn't say I ever seen Storm and Nightcrawler as a couple, but I do like this moment between them.
- Uncanny X-Men (1984) #188
My wife is writing a romance novel and every now and then she'll call me over and say something like "okay I need you to grab my ass, but push me up against the wall, and growl at me". It's a tough life I live.
Honestly it blows my mind how quickly I read through those 40+ pages. The dialogue just flows so well and you can't help but take a breather and just stare at the artwork, it's incredible
What I decided to read this morning while I drink a cup of hot coco. The tears are locked and loaded, ready to fall.
- Uncanny X-Men (1984) #186
I just read through this series a couple days ago and it's such a fun ride with an incredible cast.
I absolutely love that Marvels run, it's such a cool perspective to see all these super heroes through.
Is Cyclops a badass now? He was always a badass!
-Uncanny X-Men (1967) #37
As a CIS reader who is trying to surround himself with more diverse people and be more understanding - this scene sort of unlocked something in my mind when it came to people's identity. It seems like a really simple scene, but for some reason it hit me pretty hard. Just wanted to say thank you
Easily in my top ten favorite panels from the Claremont Run. It's beautiful, tragic, and absolutely heart wrenching.
-Uncanny X-Men (1984) #185
Nothing better than instantly knowing what someone wants/needs when it comes to gifts. I'm in a pickle for my secret Santa person but I'm brewing up some ideas
Dang - poor Nick Damiano. Just trying to do the right thing for Rachel and the. Selene! Has got to come ruin it all.
-Uncanny X-Men (1984) #184
And Wolverine is chowing down the whitest hunk of turkey ever.
Loving the outfit
