A consequence of this will be that if the government were to propose lockdowns in the future, universities will stay open and in person. Even if people can't travel to get to them. Even if students or staff or their loved ones get ill or die. And then truly only survivors will get degrees.
no worries at all - tysm, i really appreciate it!

The discourse around Wuthering Heights has gotten predictably weird, so why not read the book instead with a fantastic afterword by @noreenmasud.bsky.social and yours truly, courtesy @sandtclassics.bsky.social?

not at all, i'd be thrilled!!
500 characters a big improvement! tysm!
oh wow thank you!!! i will have a play! this week's lecture all sewn up in mentimeter (BADLY) but will try for next time!
INTERESTING! another option to squirrel away, ty!
oh that's interesting, never heard of that one. does it have character limits to replies?
Mentimeter's slide designs/layouts are also completely rigid. ONE image per slide, no more!! Can't move text boxes around etc. Becomes very arduous to composite images and save and upload them
this means that I can't use it to get students to write substantive replies - eg to write a few sentences of an essay, which I can then feed back on. Padlet has longer character limits but as I say i've given up on it
So the problem with Padlet is students really struggle to access it in our lecture theatres on their laptops bc our wifi is bad. padlet on phone is a nightmare to use. mentimeter at least can be used on phone. BUT all the open ended question tools have tiny character limits
