GB News now broadcasting calls to remove the ethnic minority MPs from parliament
Ah so now UK's immigration policy is being run by a nightclub bouncer with a god complex. You're not on the list, you're not coming in? This is no way to treat people seeking sanctuary in the UK and what's more - it will not work.
The UK government's immigration white paper has now been published: www.gov.uk/government/p...
Today, a group of our passionate young Vincentians from
two of our schools in East London had the incredible opportunity to meet with Minister and MP for East Ham Stephen Timms to talk about our Lent campaign.. 1/3
π¨The Government has scrapped its contract with a supplier providing hotels for people seeking asylum due to 'issues with its behaviour'.
No examples have been revealed by the Home Office.
Here's what we know about hotels from our researchπ

Fascinating interview, and Ash Sarkar is right on point.
Absolute respect for @stellacreasy.bsky.social for calling out this inhumane, and illegal, policy
The battle for Labourβs soul β my piece on how an insurgent Blue Labour is colliding with the Treasury and the progressive left. www.newstatesman.com/politics/lab...
The Governmentβs plan to broadcast videos of immigration raids and deportations is cruel and plays right into the hands of reform. This is what Trump did in his first week, are we really using the same scaremongering tactics as that guy?!

Important coverage of the ongoing pause in the processing of Syrian asylum claims, as well as settlement applications, by @lizziedearden.bsky.social. People shouldnβt just be left in limbo because of an indefinite pause www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...
The Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill is out today. I hope it will be more positive than the last few migration bills weβve seen..
These βoffshoringβ #asylum schemes have never and will never work. Italyβs failed Albanian scheme is proof of that www.politico.eu/article/gior...
This is the right person to chose for person of the year. Shame on Time magazine for choosing Trump.

"Jubilation and euphoria now. but what next? What about the hard yards of actually governing this country?"
Despite the liberation of Syria from the brutal Assad regime, its future remains uncertain
Video shows thousands of cars jamming roads to Damascus as displaced people return to the capital after hearing the Assad regime had been overthrown by the opposition.
Bluesky wants to be βpart of the conversationβ in Westminster, as more MPs flock to the app
Top Bluesky executive @rose.bsky.team told me about their plans for expansion and their βfundamentally differentβ approach to social media debate
Plus lots of nuggets on changes Bluesky might have in store
Interesting, thank you!
Fascinating analysis, thank you Sunder. Any thoughts on what are some of the drivers and motivations behind conservative MPs who voted yes? Was it the βpersonal libertyβ argument or something else?
Whoop whoop π
Not related to the debate at all.
βActivist judgesβ have nothing to do with this debate. Using this discussion to make personal points about a completely different issue is not right
Very interesting graph on todayβs assisted dying bill voting patterns by party
GOOD NEWS: For the first time in nearly 30 years, legal aid rates are set to increase.
With over 50% of people seeking asylum unable to get access to legal support, this investment is a desperately needed win.

330 ayes
275 no.
The assisted dying bill has gone through.
I found the most unhelpful comments by MPs the ones equating young people wanting to commit suicide with terminally ill people needing access to assisted dying. Theyβre not the same thing and shouldnβt be conflated.
I also found it the most powerful and moving contribution so far
Following the #AssistedDyingBill debate, and hearing all the stories of terminally ill people who had to die in agony is really shocking and incredibly sad
Proud second follower of the amazing @smkcampaigners.bsky.social! As an alumna of their great campaigners training itβs great to see SMK on BlueSky. Follow them today!
