I know this expression so well. Itβs my wife saying just take the damn picture already.
Watched "Oh Hi!" on the plane and well worth catching this super funny indy movie out on Netflix, where it's streaming. Molly Gordon and Geraldine Viswanathan are wonderful in every scene.
Due to warp speed restrictions it arrived delayed but yes, my LEGO Star Trek USS Enterprise D is here!
Aside from everything else in the latest Star Trek: Starfleet Academy episode that was thoughtful and touching, it was nice hearing the DS9 theme again.
There are many things to love about Star Trek: Starfleet Academy but can we agree Kyle Djokovic is kind of an unsung hero?
Sunset here in summery SoCal
These are *great* books by two amazing authors.
This Moltbook security thing is like what I found in my experience with vibe coding. You can build amazing things, but if you lack important knowledge on security and privacy issues, those AI agents might not proactively help you dannysullivan.com/vibe-coding-...
Hearing Dave Wakeling of The English Beat doing Save It for Later live was amazing, just so great
I added a feature to my @wtwn.bsky.social app that lets you see what new episodes are coming up for your TV shows, and Iβm especially excited about the Next Month section! The app is here, web & iOS (or tap App at the bottom to sign up for the Android test) wtwn.app
Sometimes it can take a whole season until the characters of a new show feel like they've found their groove, but Starfleet Academy is there now. I'm loving this crew.
My general takeaways from a non-coder perspective about vibe coding, based on building my @wtwn.bsky.social TV & movie tracker site from scratch, with no coding experience
Love having new Star Trek back. Starfleet Academy is solid, very much enjoyed the first two episodes. And Iβve never seen a captain own the big chair like Holly Hunter doing the Ake maneuver.
"How I vibe coded a TV show & movie watchlist web app with no coding experience" -- my blog post on how I developed @wtwn.bsky.social dannysullivan.com/vibe-coding-...
Top of my own watchlist for tomorrow -- Star Trek: Starfleet Academy!
I vibe-coded @wtwn.bsky.social -- a web app called What To Watch Next that helps you keep track of TV shows & movies to watch & where they're streaming. I have no coding experience, so never would believe I could build something like this. Blog post soon, but hope you'll enjoy the site wtwn.app
For the 2026 Rose Parade, the original Enterprise was appropriate for Star Trek's 60th anniversary. Love it, esp the warp effect & the transporter rooms. What troopers the cast members were, boldly going into unusual SoCal rain! Video: www.youtube.com/clip/Ugkx3Hg... Happy New Year & LLAP everyone!
In 2012, Star Trek's Kelvin Universe Enterprise made an appearance in the Rose Parade. At least, I'm pretty sure that's the Kelvin version! Here's a video clip: www.youtube.com/clip/Ugkxytw...
Star Trek's Enterprise-D was the first Enterprise to appear on a Rose Parade float, way back in 1992 (as best I can tell -- if there was an earlier or other appearances I've missed, I'm sure I'll hear!). Here's a video clip: youtube.com/clip/Ugkxqre...
I love the Rose Parade. I love Star Trek. So how cool to see the Enterprise back in it this year, to celebrate Star Trek's 60th anniversary. Congrats to everyone involved! The Star Trek nerd in me couldn't help but go back to revisit the Enterprise's previous voyages on a Rose Parade float....
Ah, New Yearβs Eve, that wonderful time when you have to give part balloons a tracheostomy. Fortunately, the patients all survived.
2025 really was the year of the goat. And sheep.
I was very worried about the whole hinge thing and feel like every time I open it will be one less but apparently they have years in them and itβs been so solid and I donβt even notice the split
Meanwhile my other son who codes has basically taken me off the web interface / bicycle with training wheels I was riding & tossed me into a semi-truck with a million knobs & dials. IE: Cursor + OpenCode. I've driven into several buildings but starting to get the hang of it.
Thanks to vibe coding, I now live to refactor. Which I had no idea about until one of my sons who does code said "Woah, that has 4,000 lines! No wonder everything is screwing up!" The AI that built the giant file agreedβ¦.
So very cool
I get the Max iPhones for bigger screen real estate so folding phones for a tiny more but size and weight have them beat. I'd move off iPhone if only ... Messages. Whole family, lots of friends on that, awkward and complicated being the green one.
To be able to spread out, so to speak, and see more is great. Side-by-side apps work & is handy. Close the fold, regular phone like normal. Doesn't feel much heavier than my daily drive, iPhone 17 Pro Max....
I've been using a Pixel 10 Pro Fold for about a month now & am in love with folding phones. I'd seen more people using folding phones out in the wild, not early tech adopters but just regular people like a cab driver and thought "Wow, maybe these are having a moment?"....
