I wish they’d shown “The Laughing Policeman”. Mathau does a take which has stuck with me for decades. He questioned strippers in their dressing room, and upon his leaving, one of them called him “pig”. His reaction might be the best acting I’ve ever seen in my life.

I’m sorry. All I could focus on was the animation which got worse & worse over the years. I remember as a kid hating that transition from the very rich animation that flowed to that rudimentary stuff with backgrounds that look like they were cut out of construction paper with blunt-nosed scissors.
They may not have faces beneath their masks, but they sure have a lot of balls!
Edmond O’Brien has never been one of my favorite actors. I’ve found him to be rather boring. But he won me over big time in this movie. He exuded an escalating sense of desperation when he was on the run that thoroughly enthralled me. O’Brien was usually typecast, and that’s a crying shame.

“Shield for Murder” is fantastic. Edmond O’Brien was spectacular as a menacing, out-of-control, corrupt cop. This is one of the best film noir movies I’ve ever seen! Gritty, suspenseful, smartly acted, & directed. This movie made me very nervous at times…WELL DONE!!!

This is a grossly misogynistic movie which treats women like one-dimensional objects and caricatures. I hope Shirley MacLaine hates that she made this piece of crap. It’s insulting to all females. (It doesn’t characterize men very nicely either. But it gives them all the goddamned power.)
I don’t know if they covered it at all, because I’ve only seen Part I, but I absolutely love, Mel Brooks’ version of “To Be or Not To Be”. I would rather watch it than the original! Mel and Anne were fantastic together.
