And Matt Goodwin who DID NOT win

27.02.2026 08:51 πŸ‘ 1271 πŸ” 262 πŸ’¬ 4 πŸ“Œ 2

obviously today is a huge embarrassment for Matt Goodwin and for Reform, which is something that we absolutely ought to celebrate, but we must also remember it's a huge embarrassment for Morgan McSweeney and Maurice Glasman and all the Blue Labour weirdos, and that's important to celebrate too :)

This post is the single best advert for the fact that proper local journalism matters.
If Jim’s team hadn’t put the pieces together quickly, this wouldn’t have been stopped.

The more Reform UK male politicians obsess over sex the more convinced I become that being rejected by women is the true engine of the party

I’m not sure, have you ever been to a Buck n' Doe in Northern Ontario, DJ’d by the local country music station?

A version of the Wes Streeting 'I never knew Peter Mandelson well' opinion column. Photo is of my cat. Text reads: Ignore the smears: I was never on the kitchen table,
and I am deeply
concerned about
the cultural moral
failing of going
on tables.
I was only in the kitchen in the 1st place to prevent other cats from jumping on the table. That sound you heard was me doing something else.
An additional 'linked' headline reads: Scientists study reappearance of mysterious cat-like wet footprints on surface of table, despite assurances that cat β€˜knows it’s naughty’ to go on the table.

that same logo in its original blue and red colours, which happens to be the literal flag of the British Union of Fascists

Top tip: to avoid having the British Union of Fascists logo on the side of your mock-up train, don't use horrible text-to-image AI slop instead of actual designers and artists.

O'Hara as Cookie Fleck, limping wildly into the arena at the climax of Best in Show. Incredible, subtle physical comedy. Every second she is on screen is a dream. Unparalleled.

the good news for Kemi Badenoch is that she's actually being handed on a silver platter an opportunity to partially detoxify her party without needing to do anything other than appear non-toxic

the bad news is that she is Kemi Badenoch

What I love about this is either you've seen the Trump post and a London mayoral candidate is tying themselves to a figure who is almost universally reviled in London OR you haven't and it reads as threatening to put London into an ice age

This news conference could go on for a very long time

(byline: Gary O'Donoghue, Chief North America correspondent at the White House)

This is the president in his most enigmatic and expansive mood. During the campaign this used to be called "the weave" – meandering from subject to subject, often the connections not immediately obvious.

London* gets its first Reform MP: Andrew Rosindell.

*Admittedly Andrew dislikes being part of London so much he has repeatedly campaigned for his constituency to be moved into Essex.

I'll say it again: watching Robert Jenrick do "cunning politics" is like watching a toddler hide behind a cushion.

"Where's Robert gone? THERE HE IS! Oh no! Where is he? THERE HE IS!"

Statistics Canada to cut 850 jobs in 'dark time' for public service, union says Federal statistics agency entered its workforce adjustment period Monday, sending notices to thousands of employees.

Quite frankly, it’s outrageous that Mark Carney is cutting Statistics Canada. If he was Stephen Harper or Pierre Poilievre, I feel like this would be getting a lot more backlash.

Carney of all people should know the importance of high-quality data and information about the country.

Nearly 85K people homeless in Ontario, up 8% in 1 year: report | Globalnews.ca Homelessness is getting worse acrossΒ OntarioΒ with an estimated 85,000 people who were without a home in 2025, a new report from Ontario's municipalities shows.

I cannot stress enough that homelessness is caused by policy levers primarily at the provincial level.

And AMO's new report shows it: homelessness in Ontario rose 8% last year, with 85,000 people becoming homeless. 20,000 were youth and children.

Horrifying.

Again, "I only make CSAM for money" would not help an ordinary person's defence, but would aggravate their sentencing.

11 days from now marks one year since this guy got away with doing a Nazi salute on live TV. Since then, he - the world's richest man - has gutted govt programmes causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands of children and turned his microblogging website into a child porn generator. Consequences!

Just saw a photo that Grok produced of a child no older than four years old in which it took off her dress, put her in a bikini + added what is intended to be semen. ChatGPT does not do this. Gemini does not do this.

Another girl who appears to be just 11 or 12 with a brain tumor, Grok removed her shirt completely.

Stating that the people producing the prompts are the only ones responsible puts an undue burden on victims, most of which have no idea this is happening. This problem + exploitation of children could be fixed in a matter of minutes by the MechaHitler team.

Elon Musk chatbot repeatedly making CSAM on demand should be one of the single biggest stories right now and it's effectively a collective shrug instead

I understand the pressures on the BBC, but Radio 4's coverage of the Minneapolis shooting is an example of "bad balance".

It's all "the Trump regime says she was a terrorist, but Democrats say it was murder".

The BBC has the footage. It doesn't have to treat truth and falsehood as equally valid.
