A second video showing the murder of a Minneapolis woman. Violent content.
Totally agree. Establishment Dems should be paying attention to what Platner was doing right and why his message was resonating rather than sticking their tongues out and saying, "I told you so." The 58% favorability over Mills' 24% doesn't bode well for her.
A great list of companies to boycott and protest if you're not sure where to direst that "No Kings" energy today.
We've got different viewpoints, and I'm fine with that. Age has become a hot button issue in politics, I think it will (and has) come into play in this race.
I think you might have missed the point of my post because I'm not disagreeing with that premise.
Also, there's nothing wrong with being over the age of 55, and I have a lot of older friends who agree that it's time for the old guard to pass the torch to a new generation, so I don't think that they're a monolith either.
Hey, I engaged with your comment. Sooner or later Dems are going to have to appeal to younger voters, even here in Maine.
Oh well then, I guess they have nothing to worry about. Good thing none of those voters have historically voted for Collins. Thank you for your sage wisdom.
The median age is still 45, you tool.
Dude, I actually live here.
Even if Platner's cooked, Dems still need to reckon with the fact that no one under the age of 55 is excited to get out and vote for Mills before they start taking victory laps. #mainepolitics
Belfast Lobstah
"had a real hippie vibe," that's how you know you're in Belfast, lol!
Belfast was between 1,000-1,400.
Little King Trump is scared shitless.
This is what democracy looks like. #NoKings
I hope you're planning on getting your ass out there today.
Calm down. This isn't J6, ya'll.
If "never made a controversial statement on the internet" is going to be a sticking point, then I guess we really are going to consign the Democratic party to the 70+ crowd for as long as possible. Republicans sure have gotten the hell over it.
Grem?
The Opinion Contributor is "the founder of Maine Issues & Action PAC (MiaPAC), a political action committee that advocates for individual liberty and limited government."
"LD 1971 would bar Maine law enforcement from detaining someone **solely** at ICEβs request..."
Right, so if there's evidence or reasonable suspicion that someone is involved in "human trafficking, drug smuggling, or violent crime," then PD's hands are not tied, and they should enforce the law.
π΅ I may not live to see our glory,
but I will gladly join the fight.
And, when my children tell my story,
they'll tell the story of how I wasn't a fascist or a coward,
and stuck my neck out for what's right. πΆ
We're back at it in Belfast for No Kings 2 on October 18!
@hcrichardson.bsky.social I've been tasked by Indivisible Waldo County to invite you to join our speaker set! Since I don't have a direct line this is as official as I can get, so hit me up in the DMs if you can make it to Belfast. πππ¦π
OBAMA: It's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on who are afraid of death and insignificance, and they won't let go. They build pyramids, and they put their names on everything. They get very anxious about it.
I was 20 when I got to vote for Obama, and it was fucking inspiring. He was centrist for me, but it still felt like the electorate could push leaders to the left then. Even more so it was refreshing to have someone who was smart and smooth after Bush era. The kind of grownup you wanted to be.
Yes, after a dinner conversation with my 16-year-old last night, I'm becoming increasingly convinced that the only way we'll inspire actual young people to get involved and have hope is if they see younger people (at least their parent's age vs. their grandparents) as their aspirational leaders.
Disgusting. Like watching someone rob your home right in front of your family and laughing about in your face about what a funny joke it is.
