Scrapping the two-child benefit cap is long overdue and welcome.

A joint statement from the North East Green Party Regional EDI group: We are appalled at the way the Labour Government has conducted itself concerning the Welfare Reform Bill. At a time when there is already a deep class division, the Welfare Reform Bill proposed by the Government would subdivide another group of people: the have and have-nots of disabled people.
Some will still be in receipt of Personal Independence Payments (PIP), but future claimants will have no support from the Government's PIP scheme or get the health element of Universal Credit. Let us make this loud and clear: PIP is not an out of work benefit. PIP actually helps a lot of disabled people to access work and suitable housing. As Greens, we will continue to fight and advocate for sick and disabled people now, and those in the future.
