when i had a fancy job, i think being able to help people was what kept me holding on long past burnout.
i realised something i quite like about myself when i got laid off from that computer company in Texas: my biggest sad was that i wouldn't be able to use my employee discount for friends' PCs
i keep the Morning Pages practise from The Artist's Way in my back pocket. i don't do them every day and almost never in the morning, but when i'm spun up, sitting down and writing out three pages of brain spew is incredibly helpful to unspin.

the Irish Rovers record album The Unicorn lying on a blue cushion with the vinyl peeking out from the cover. the cover art is a teal blue spiral transparently superimposed on a rampant purple unicorn. the album title is in purple bubble letters in the first (largest) ring of the spiral. the band name sits in the second ring of the spiral and is done in bright green bubble letters.
struck nostalgia gold thrifting.
this was the album i played when my tiny self was first allowed to work the record player.
also: i was convinced for a time that Irish people were literally orange & green, except for that poor William-Pat guy who was striped like the Fruit Stripe Gum zebra or smth

i met my current spouse online in 2000.
i traveled to Yorkshire from the US to attend the wedding of two friends who had also met online.

Being a freelancer on a disability pension is rough, friends. Payment from a publishing client was supposed to go through last week but Iβm still waiting.
I need a buffer to pay for travel to see mom at the nursing home, and my tenants insurance will be due soon.

ime there's a difference btwn people who hate romance novels (hi) & those who hate that others enjoy romance novels.
i also don't enjoy comics & graphic novels. not bc i think they lack merit, but bc i really struggle with the format.
i just don't mistake my needs & preferences for universal rules

i admit i shouldn't be, but am, a little flabbergasted that they're surprised that Iran is retaliating.
my phone is nearing end of life (it's almost 6 years old). i am thinking about going back to a basic T9 phone cos i can't find a smart phone without AI integrated.
