A facebook post from Lisa Murkowski: I want to thank Alaskans who have been reaching out to my offices in D.C. and across Alaska. The U.S. Senate phone system has been receiving around 1,600 calls each minute, compared to the 40 calls per minute we usually receive, which has disrupted our call systems. Thank you for your patience as my staff works to review your messages and share them with me. Weβre all working to get this issue resolved as quickly as possible.
Murkowski says call volume to the Senate is now 40x higher than normal:
I've been calling congressional offices for almost a week straight, and yesterday had two firsts: 1. Grassley's inbox was filled all day (tried at a couple different times) and 2. First day Nunn's office didn't have a real staff member pick up and answer. Will try local offices next.

Just incredible. We're in the center of a five-alarm fire, and it's trying to take everything from us.
It's one thing to take down pages talking about diversity in science.
It's another thing entirely to take down research databases that are used for observational studies.
That is exactly what it seems just happened at the CDC.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a declassified World War II-era CIA guide to sabotaging fascism in the workplace has become one of the most popular free ebooks on the internet:

Trump has signed an executive order eliminating all funding for diversity and inclusion in the federal government, sending home DEI staff who will then be laid off. The historical echo for this is when Woodrow Wilson resegregated the federal government in 1913. We have reached the second nadir.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.
With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.
You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.
