You managed to hit me with this at the perfect time. I'm not sure whether to be frustrated or supremely thankful. I feel the latter is fairer. Hugs.

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

Using Claude Code has actually solidified my belief that PhD students should use these tools lightly for their core work. The main goal isn't to be productive, it's to transform yourself. At the end of building these apps I have next to know idea how they work

Your power bill has tripled and you can't afford new PC parts just to create this.
Such a shame to see yet another product focused on privacy incorporate technology into their "next chapter" which was built on mass data scraping and abuse of those rights they claim to care about. @mozilla.org
Guess I better cancel my Mozilla VPN before all my data is fed directly into OpenAI.
Why do I still use Windows 7? Here's a screenshot of Windows 11:
(a) double-click speed control is useless w/ no way to test the speed. the slider isn't even labelled "slow/fast".
(b) snippingtool doesn't hide itself while you're snipping
(c) which icon in snippingtool hides 'save as file'? none
Not if I have anything to say about it

All in all, if this movie was better, or believed in itself, it could perhaps be classed a bad movie. For now I share these words of scorn to warn off fellow lovers of the TRON grid.
It is awful and worthily mocked.
Wish I had a dentists appointment instead.
Bad in uninteresting ways.
Compared to the previous iteration of TRON by Disney, which for all its sins was an interesting, take on the classic with action, a world that was at least somewhat alive and had a vision and a fun romp.
Plus a banging soundtrack, honestly Aresβ was fine, but Iβm sorry, few can compare to Daft Punk.
What a cheap, sad sellout for all involved, I had so many hopes for the universe after the reboot. I was actively inspired to boo when they did _the second_ blade runners rain reference AS A CRITICAL PLOT POINT.
HAVE A NEW IDEA PLEASE, I BEG YOU.
JUST ONE, IT DOESN'T HURT.
The actors looked so _uncomfortable_ being there, even before the editors removed all semblance of motivation, character or even backstory for most characters. The only credit for acting I can give to this 2.5 hour high speed motorway pileup are to the two female leads, and even then dubiously.
The main questions posed by the movie are a bland and overdone tropes: can AI have a soul or a redemption or a sympathetic character if it acts like one.
But even these boring ideas were the only mildly creative work extruded through the corporate anus that this awful waste of time demonstrated.
Or the advertising revenue from the constant Ducati, Audi, Honda and fucking ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL ads shoehorned in with the delicacy of a boxer doing proctology, or the bargain basement that this trash: if ever released on CD-ROM, is destined to be a week after release.
TRON Ares is a pile of wormy pig swill masquerading as a movie. A dumpster more full of corporate advertising than imagination, plot, motivation or even action for heavens' sake. I genuinely wonder if the revenues from this car crash of a third rate movie are greater in box office sales,...
I have just been out to the cinema, my first real trip out since a surgery. It was somewhat uncomfortable, as I can't wear a belt without it resting on my scar - which is still painful, even when I'm reclined.
What was more painful was the absolute garbage I watched. Here is my review of TRON Ares:
Well, another thing I have to think about.
I highly recommend this podcast episode about the immense pressure the current administration is placing on immigration judgesβwho, notably, are not part of the judiciary but work under the Department of Justice.

give this lady a sock and a piano accompaniment and she would tear the party UP
Surreal moment for America. Needless to say, if the normal police ever pulled something like this β pulling every single person out of an apartment building and handcuffing them to run warrant checks β they would be sued into oblivion.
Yet ICE is going to get away with it entirely.
Some people are saying "you should return that book you bought for this video" but I would NEVER do that to a self-published author. Not even to Mr. Wolf Dingle.

My Favorite Actress Is Not Human Tilly Norwood doesnβt need a hairstylist, has no regrettable posts, and if you wish to see a virgin on-screen, this is one of your better chances. Thatβs because sheβs AI. A picture of some AI girl standing on an AI landscape with an AI monster behind her. I'm gonna be so real: she looks about 14 By Tyler Cowen
I'm sorry: "if I wish to see a virgin on-screen"?
Another deep thought from the pre-eminent genius of our time. Thinking of things is easier than doing them. I just thought of warp drive. But can I do it? Checkmate Musk haters
