Iedereen noemt hem buurman, net als hij ons. Maar hij heet dus Moustapha, weer wat geleerd. Onze vaste pitstop onderweg van de markt. In ons geval: glutenvrije pasta, verse kruiden, z’n zelfgemaakte hummus, heeeeeeeeeel soms een paar in pure chocola gewikkelde dadels. Gaat dat proeven!
Ja, begrijp je toch opeens een stuk meer van de wereld, hè? 🥲
Hopen dat het komende jaar die trend niet doorzet, vrezen dat het dat wel doet… 😖🍉

- @datagraver.com for a lot of Dutch data and more.
I think these it is invaluable to feed ourselves with data & insights like this, to know more the news we consume.
Ik denk inderdaad dat devs hier wel in voorop lopen. Wat ik zie: het heeft waarde en neemt veel werk weg. Maar ik geloof niet dat 1 enkel vak echt volledig wordt vervangen. Bedrijven die daarop wedden in 2025, gaan op de blaren zitten komend jaar.
Of course I also started actively using @bsky.app! I love I feel in control of my own feeds and there’s interaction on this platform like it was in the old days of Twitter. I hope blue sky won’t evolve too much. Keep it simple, stupid!
I’ve always valued my privacy. But since I am starting to distrust the routes politics and governments are actively taking and might take in the future, I believe it’s a good idea to take the security of my personal data more seriously than ever.
Another project that’s on my wishlist is a self-hosted alternative to Google or Apple/iCloud Photos. But that’s for the long term :)
A few years ago I already installed Home Assistant (Hass) on a Raspberry Pi and it’s the core of our home automation setup. In the upcoming year I plan to replace my Google Nest setup with a Hass-based voice assistant and touch screen, replacing the Nest Hub. Exciting project!
Most of my friends and family switched to Signal, so I left Telegram. Now I am mostly using Sigbal for IM, with a bit of Apple Messages mixed into that.
I love how more and more people start to value Signal’s privacy first approach too and I start paying for backups, mainly to support their cause.
I switched from Spotify to Qobuz, because they’re offering creators better pay for what I listen to. It’s a 17-year old European app, originally focused on hifi nerds. Its UX is almost on par w/ Spotify. For podcasts I am finishing a Podimo subscription and using Apple Podcasts for the time to come.
I switched from Google to @proton.me, with both personal and business accounts. I now actively use Proton Mail, Calendar and VPN. And I plan to also switch with drive docs & sheets now Proton offers sheets too. Their privacy-first focus and actively improving UX is a big win for me.
This year I did quite a bit of switching to apps that are a bit more conscious of how they do their business, as opposed to companies that are out for as much data (to feed their ads) or money for themselves (instead of creators) and that feels good!

Ik WIST het. D66 zet elk ideaal opzij als het de weg naar regeren plaveit. Precies waarom ik nooit meer op die partij stem (en dat nu ook niet deed). Extreem rechts mag weer mee doen. Dan kan JA21 er straks vast ook nog wel bij.
