Seth left the dead bird for Nostr in Feb 2023. Same time I did.
Instead of doom scrolling, he built @zap_cookingβa social network for foodies on Nostr.
We talked about why he made the switch and what he's building.

"It's a peer-to-peer network, and people are sharing with other plebs, and it's a beautiful thing."
Seth built @zap_cooking because he wanted a place to share recipes without the clutter. No ads. No
Christmas tales before the ingredient list.

The future is impossible to predict. There is NO answer on how to future proof yourself.
Upskill? Which skill is relevant in 6 days or 6 weeks? It's all moving so fast.
If I were to concentrate on any skill right now, it would be resiliency.
Anyone who says they have answers rn is full of it.
NO ONE knows where this stuff is going.
The social worker in me always wonders how folks will navigate the inevitable.
The way the money is changing.
The way AI is changing the world of creativity and work.

We talked about:
- Leaving Twitter for Nostr
- Building without VC money
- Why simple wins
- The famous "Bevo's Wooster and Chips"

Listen to Radio Detox on @fountain_app with Seth from Zap.Cooking.
What started as "Nostr dot anything was available" became a community staple.
@zap_cooking strips away the blog fluff and gives you recipesβthat's it.
What if a recipe site just... gave you the recipe? No life story. No ads. No scroll of doom.
That's @zap_cooking
I talked to Seth about building it on Nostr and why peer-to-peer recipe sharing just works.

In this brand new episode of Radio Detox, we discuss a truly anonymous fitness app.
Your data, your way.

I can just tell a chat box what kind of app to build me.
Those are my top 3 favorite things about staying π― open source while I vibe code on Shakespeare by @SoapboxTech.
What are yours?
I dole out non-tech tips about the open source life using Nostr, AI, & Bitcoin. I've got a podcast about it, Soapbox Sessions.
Or just follow @SoapboxTech for more
3. Shakespeare helps you build quickly on Nostr, a free + open source protocol where what you build can't be censored.
It's private by nature. Your identity isn't tied to any account. Files are stored locally in your browser.
We never look at what you're doing because we can't see your data.
2. Access to a supportive community for troubleshooting & collaboration.
We help you with weekly live vibe coding sessions on HiveTalk & chat with you on Nostr + X.
New community coming soonβ’ π
3 Open Source Vibe Coding Benefits:
1. Flexibility to customize your workflow. Shakespeare is big on this:
BYOK, choose @GitHub or @GitLab, & pay USD or BTC. You control your code & projects.
2025: "Have you read my book?"
2026: "Have you tried my app?"
π Cheers to more vibe coding next year π₯

But Derek Ross (@GrowNostrOrg) does get me started!
Plus, we go through every Nostr prediction he's made over the years to see if he was right...
Call it a Nostr prediction audit!
β’ No more Telegram groups
β’Β We must build for social media teams
β’Β Nostr onboarding...don't get me started...
"Things are gonna need to change around here for 2026..."
I give my list of things I'd like to see happen for Nostr on Soapbox Sessions:
RUNSTR Season 2 is coming January 1... ποΈ Details in this episode of Radio Detox!
π https://youtu.be/boXr7HbaIlI #bitcoin
RUNSTR keeps your data private by storing it locally on your phone π±
It integrates Bitcoin for rewards, so you can contribute to your favorite charities, like @HRF.
π @RunstrClub is changing the game for folks who love fitness but want to stay anonymous.
The Wild Hustle, the mastermind behind RUNSTR, is sharing his journey with me on Radio Detox π
I'm excited to see how we can decentralize...
β’ Music
β’ Social Media
β’ AI
And now...Fitness! πͺ π π§
Screenshot essay titled 'Template #4: Myths' discussing the misconceptions around vibe coding. It emphasizes that vibe coding is unnecessarily complicated, driven by fears of making mistakes and the constraints of apps like Replit that charge for prompts. The essay argues that this pressure leads to overthinking and discourages creativity. It offers advice for users, regardless of technical skill, highlighting the importance of building at your skill level, the value of design, the necessity of follow-up prompts, and the reality of debugging AI coding. The final message encourages users to enjoy the creative process without the stress of scarcity.
Vibe coding is supposed to be easy. So why does everyone complicate it?

Also, don't overthink it. You don't need to write a prompt the length of a college essay to get building with Shakespeare. You can if you want.
You can also choose Claude Opus 4.5 and give it a 1-word prompt like "TikTok" to start your own TikTok alt.
Have fun! π€©
We don't do a subscription model for our generative AI website and app builder. You can BYOK (which means bring your own API key from @OpenRouterAI or @PPQdotAI or whomever).
You can also purchase the amount of AI credits you use. You can do that in USD with a card or use Bitcoin.
