Worker owned businesses, cooperatives and social enterprises tend to perform better on the the things that matter:
-Delivering on social and ecological goals
-Paying fairly and sharing wealth
-Lobbying governments less for narrow gain
-Strengthening communities by staying put
Businesses shape everything from the price of food to our wages.
Who owns and runs a business determines who and what it serves.
Under democratic ownership
▸ Worker, communities or purpose-lead trusts share power
▸ Purpose is embedded in company rules
▸ Decisions serve more than profit.
Business as usual isn’t working. Democratic ownership could be the fix. 🧵
