The yuri Jayvik argument on twitter is what got me thinking about this today, but I’ve been thinking about it for a while because of how pervasive this phenomenon is with Arcane. Every subfandom seems to have so much to say about what they don’t like and why they’re better for not liking it

All it does is make it hard to enjoy either thing without being put down

I’m in many different microfandoms for Arcane, and something I’ve observed in EVERY SINGLE ONE is that no matter the ship/dynamic/characters, a lot of people are convinced every other space is inherently beneath theirs morally

I just don’t understand, is it fun for people in fandom to be so negative and mean ALL the time about free art? Is it fun for people to dogpile others over fictional characters and then also get dogpiled themself in response until it manifests a cesspool of hatred between two parts of a fandom?
