Dear Mark, The Dems can propose all the legislation they want, but none of that will go anywhere without support from Republicans, who hold the majority of both houses of Congress. How about holding the Republicans responsible for this situation that they have created?

It would certainly help to find some Republicans that haven't misplaced their spines. The few ones there were seem to have evaporated into thin air. The Cheneys, the Romneys - even if they don't hold positions of power anymore, they still have a voice, or at least should. Silence is consent.

In the event of a catastrophic failure on the ISS, there is a contingency plan to get everybody aboard home, including Suni and Butch. It wouldn't be the ideal way to do it, there would likely be more risk involved, but it could be done.
There's already a spacecraft scheduled to bring them back. It takes time to get it prepared and launched. They don't have a "rescue" ship that can launch at a moment's notice.
They'll be coming back home. It's mostly just a matter of how they schedule the spacecraft that take astronauts up to the ISS and bring them back. They're in no more danger than anyone else aboard the ISS.
