It's only the working class of this city that is ever told to take a haircut in hard times.

MPD saw metro surge as an opportunity to fill their pockets.

I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
OCASIO-CORTEZ STATEMENT ON TRUMP'S COMBAT OPERATIONS IN IRAN "The American people are once again dragged into a war they did not want by a president who does not care about the long-term consequences of his actions. This war is unlawful. It is unnecessary. And it will be catastrophic. "Just this week, Iran and the United States were negotiating key measures that could have staved off war. The President walked away from these discussions and chose war instead.President Trump flippantly acknowledged the possibility of American casualties, stating "that often happens in war.' "Mr. President: this was not an inevitability. This is a deliberate choice of aggression when diplomacy and security were within reach. Stop lying to the American people. "Violence begets violence. We learned this lesson in Iraq. We learned this lesson in Afghanistan. And we are about to learn it again in Iran. Bombs have yet to create enduring democracies in the region and this will be no different. "In moments of war, our Constitution is unambiguous: Congress authorizes war. The President does not. I will do my part to uphold our Constitution by voting YES on Representatives Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie's War Powers Resolution. Every member of Congress must join us in rejecting this aimless war.

Its time to tax the rich in Minnesota
lets go @coleinmidway.bsky.social!
How does your common sense political mind respond to this? Give MPD more money? Trust them to protect you? or say, why in hell are we paying for this raggedy shit? Why dont we demand a whole universe of different and what we deserve?
every single time it gets laid bare for you, every single time you have a choice, to retreat into copaganda and cop hagiography (that you know to be false,) every single time you have a choice to move on from here when it is finally enough already.

Lets follow the democratic socialist path Minnesota, stop evictions now and abolish ICE!
As ICE spreads terror across our state, Southside is showing up for each other & rejecting the politics of hatred.
Iβm running for re-election to keep delivering real results for working Minnesotans & the next generation. Fatehfor62.com

My name is Christin Crabtree, and I'm running for Minneapolis School Board - At Large.
There are so many important ways to plug in right now, but if you're looking for one that's about building towards the flourishing schools and city we all deserve, I'd love your support.

Abolish ICE
Thank you Soren!
Duluth voters overwhelmingly approved last year a βRight to Repairβ ordinance that gives landlords 14 days to fix broken items or tenants can deduct repair costs from up to half their rent/$500. Is St. Paul next? Signatures being collected now for ballot question: www.twincities.com/2026/01/20/h...
Just guessing here, but I suspect the White House is pushing so hard for wars of conquest on multiple fronts because they see their support collapsing ahead of the midterms and worry they won't get another shot. An example of how tyrants become more dangerous as they get weaker, not less.
For anyone who has been impressed with our mayor, who forcefully demands that ICE get the fuck out of our city: he went on Fox yesterday to announce that he does *not* support abolishing ICE, an agency that didnβt even exist until after 9/11.
This is not a serious person. Do not be taken in.
Unions and community orgs are calling for a Minnesota-wide shutdown in 10 days to protest the ferocious assault by federal immigration agents. They're saying on Jan 23, no work, no school, no shopping. SEIU Local 26, UNITE HERE Local 17, & others are supporting, w/ more to join. By me, Amie Stager

This poll shows that 74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting getting rid of the agency.
Any elected Democrat who wants ICE to exist is outside the mainstream of their party and the people they purport to represent.

Trump's thugs are going hog wild and tossing gas around in one of the busiest commercial districts in Minneapolis, just a mile or so from where I live. Complete insanity.
