All the wit and wisdom you loved from Twitter come to Bluesky because the old place is a Xithole now. Veteran, academic, well-versed in right wing discourse, and insufferable.

This is an extremely surface level view of the issue. The problem is that we both want a President who can respond to immediate threat but is constrained by Congress. The previous standard was that wars of choice were taken to Congress. That norm was broken. Impeachment should follow.

That’s what gets me.

I can also buy a beer with a student ID, which I can’t even vote with now.

The only reason people don’t like the criticism here is because of its validity.

The only reason to go into the Xitter is because you know you’ll get so much invalid criticism it won’t make you have to think about what you could have done better.

Trump doesn’t believe that.

When asked about Putin’s obvious war crimes, Trump said β€œyou think our country’s so innocent?”

Also, that’s how we get a lot of super villains.

So it’s falling at the trajectory Biden had it on?

As a former paratrooper, this is disheartening.

When did anti-government protesters having weapons become a problem?

darling.

I’m reticent to put Stephen Webber on this list solely because he did the one β€œnon-career” job I consider acceptable before running for office, and that’s serving his country in combat.

We need a group of people able to both play politics and look at the world objectively.

2. Those who have never had any career and aren’t really smart enough to get a good job out of school due to their beliefs overriding their ability to see facts.

Nick Schroer and Phil Christofanelli both have lived in their mom’s basements as they try to make their way to being a right wing

Agree, but I think you’re missing two groups of people
1. Anti-government lawyers. Dean Plocher, David Tyson Smith, and Bill Hardwick are all practicing attorneys who served. They, in shockingly, vote(d) for things and supported bills that harm you because they make their practices more lucrative.

It’s time to start paying our legislators a real salary and lifting term limits. Having terminally online retirees and those who’ve never had a career running the show in Jeff City is just getting us gun violence and concerns about things that aren’t real.

(Said sarcastically for effect) Well, when the Lord agrees with everything white Christian men have to say, we would be fools to not put them in charge, right?

I’ve had it happen one time where a right wing nutjob (who I happened to be related to) told me that they understood Jesus said β€œturn the other cheek” and acknowledged the power of the story of the Good Samaritan, but they didn’t think it was a model for us in the war on terror.

Not going to lie, one of my biggest problems with the religious right is that they tell me how there’s nothing their religion asks them to do they think is over the top. They can tell me all about the faults of their spouse though. Kinda nuts when you and the almighty are in perfect agreement.

heard he had been arrested.

Lemon always struck me as someone more into his own image, but he’s CLEARLY reporting on the protest not participating.

@chadkultgen.bsky.social I know it would require more work, but have you thought of showing someone else reading the news story you’re asking your parents to respond to, or showing some video of the thing you’re talking about? Specifically with the Don Lemon thing I was questioning it when I first

There’s only two types of people in this world: those who are capitalist but aren’t getting paid to be agitators and those who are capitalist and are getting paid to be agitators.

It’s almost like even those in support of the free market unequivocally think it’s got major drawbacks.

And people from each party were against gay marriage.

I’m not saying it’s right, but the difference between the mainline of the parties was much more marginal issues.

I’m glad someone is calling out that the deal Kansas’ Governor said would cost taxpayers nothing is actually a multi-billion dollar giveaway to an already rich family for a product Kansas citizens already enjoyed.

The thing people don’t realize is that in the 90s there was a lot more similarity among the parties and the real issue was β€œhow much do we give to the poor” or β€œwhat is the marginal tax rate?”

Now the debate is β€œshould black people exist?” β€œWhy do we allow women to vote?” It’s not the same.
